depends on the mood and genre i play.. but i use v-picks small & medium pointed, alice 3.0(the imitation of JD's stubby), Gravity & jazz 3's

Eto yung preferred kong klase ng guitar pick( i dont really know kung ano tawag dito, jazz guitar pick ata at alice ang tatak ng ginagamit ko)

mas madali kasi mag pinch harmonic gamit ito,mas smooth para sa akin ..

Tried one V-Pick. Got hooked. Bought a couple more. Liked them too. Bought much, much more. Now I have these guys (I have newer models, no included in the pic) :

My favorites are the Dimension unbuffed (really, really versatile pick that sounds great and has good playability/grip), the Diamond (small and fast, adds mids to picking attack due to its shape) and the Screamer (great for rhythm work, AWESOME for acoustic). I use the Dimension unbuffed about 80% of the time. The Stiletto is a good alternative to the Jazz III. I bought one for Fidel before; maybe he can give his personal assessment of the Stiletto.

Gravity Picks are great as well. They're right up there with the V-Picks in terms of value and quality. If you guys wanna go nuts on boutique picks, you may want to try Blue Chip, Red Bear, Picks and Stones, Wegen, Surfpick and Gripick. But I'm sticking with V-Picks.

For off-the-shelf picks, I prefer Dunlop Stubby 2.0mm, Ultex Standard 1.0mm and Jazz III 1.38mm. Pretty good workhorse picks and won't hurt if you lose 'em or throw 'em at the crowd a la guitar god style

Those are Jim Dunlop Stubby picks.

The best picks I've used are the Jim Dunlop Ultex Jazz III 2.0s. Great accuracy and speed, but kinda lacks in the tone department -- doesn't give off that much of a "bite."

For fast picking I like the Ultex Jazz III but it takes a while to get the edges to smooth out, medyo rough sa unang gamit. For regular stuff I still like the Fender Heavy pick, malaking tonal variation depende sa angle at kung anong side ng pick. I maybe be the only one here who dislike the acrylic picks (V-Picks, Gravity etc.). At first use I was impressed by the increase in volume but I noticed it compresses the dynamics too much. On regular picks you can go from 1-10 in volume with 1 real soft to 10 loudest/ really digging in but with acrylic picks it becomes 5-10 for me. I didn't care for the chirp it introduces too and the short life (nagkakaron ng lamat ang tip edge after a while) especially for their asking price.

1.) mas kumakapit sa daliri pag oily o basa ng pawis, ganito ba talaga lahat ng ultex na material o itong model lang na to?
2.) di masyadong dinig ang atake sa strings (parang flesh ng finger lang pinangkakalabit) o baka marami lang naabsorb na pawis at oil kaya ganon tunog? hehehe tignan ko muna ano behaviour ng bagong ganitong pick.

i bought these new dunlop tortex a few weeks back that were slimmer. well not slimmer but smaller in size.

Ernie Ball Hard, I also love JS (white) hard. Noon, I liked the planet waves 1.14 (purple) and the 1.0 blue ones. I feel more comfortable using firm picks na hindi makapal pag general use. Why? Kasi I find it easier to attack the strings softly with a hard pick. Mahirap yung other way around. Hindi naman mabigat tugtugan namin; nasanay lang siguro ako na nilalapastangan ko ang strings ko.
