« on: March 31, 2006, 10:36:26 AM »

you can buy those cheapo adaptors in the ace hardware.. they create a bit of noise.. but its better than spending everything on batteries

you should really look at investing in a good power adaptor with daisy chain, the BOss PSA is pretty good, i dont notice any hum really.

in terms of batteries, i use energiser or duracell, kasi sometimes you may have a new but cheap battery, that will cause your effects to sound crap because its not getting the right amount of juice.

if i were you i'd buy a PSA, magastos in the long run kung puro batteries..

i'll disagree with those cheap adaptors. if you're going for generic, go for the ones that are regulated. they probably cost around P600 upwards in most hardware stores.

and for analog dirtboxes, i'd still take a battery over an unregulated adaptor any day.

i'm only using 2 pedals, J&H Overdrive and Micro amp.

the best way is to bring your pedal with you para matest mo na rin. usually, nasa ilalim naman yung power consumption tsaka kung ac/dc cya.

Anybody above tried a rechargeable 9V instead? If so, how was it?

I'm using Energizers sa mga delay pedals. Suckers talaga. I might invest in a rechargeable instead but I'm hesitant to get one.

I don't want el cheapo adaptors and a Boss PSA is hard to find nowadays, plus additional luggae pa.

Opinions?

delayand modulation pedals are battery eaters talaga. so it's better to use a power supply..i have used rechargeable 9vs..mabilis pa rin mag drain sa delays yun lang nga rechargeable. but i know matagal ang battery sa boss distortions and ods coz they consume low power lang..:)

sushiboy, how is the jekyl and hyde? ok ba?

What brand did you use? Is the rechargeable battery the same as the duracells in terms of longevity?

^^ well, there are threads na may sense kasi, and they deserve to come back from the dead  :-D hehe

mabilis maubos eveready... i do have my PSU, but i always put a 9v batt on each pedal just in case something happens to the PSU
no pic, no advise...
