common interests kasi kadalasan ko nakikita na nabubuo na sound nang isang banda. bihira (or never) ako nagka bandmate na napipilitan lang sa sound na hindi nya gusto.

Sa tingin ko naman, imposibleng hindi maiinject somewhat ng isang musician ang mga likes and influences nya sa tugtugin nya, kahit ibang style pinapalabas nya. Natural tendency lang natin ipalabas ang gusto nating marinig, kahit unintentionally.

in our case we agreed to play exactly whatever our personal influences are.  :lol: so we get a pretty mixed up sound generally in the direction of metal.

Ngayon, we do a lot of cover of different genres. I really wanna try inserting the Metal guy in me in our band pero I don't think it would work since I'm the only guy sa band namin na into Metal.

Maganda lang kapag ni-limit mo yung band nyo sa isang genre, mas mainam kayo sa specific genre na yun, ika nga may specialization at solid na solid ang feel ng tugtugan.

Kapag mixed naman ang genres, nagiging versatile tayo. Siyempre may bad part pa din, minsan nalalagyan na ng kakaibang vibe yung tugtugan kasi parang nalilito na kung ano ba talaga kayo? Mostly nangyayari to sa mga cover bands like us na mixed yung type namin na genre.

Well it basically boils down to your influences. Much better kung pare pareho kayo ng mga bandmates n'yo. Then again, there is also a factor of what the band wants to achieve. My former band was so focused into playing abroad so they had to base their music from variety/pop centered music, since there is a slim chance of passing auditions if they continue to play what we used to play that was more focused into grunge and alternative  :-D

age is a factor for me now  :wink: i used to play a more aggresive type of music.  now people around tend to sleep when i mess with the guitar.  kind of the extreme.  but ultimately it's the music i like.
