what to know if ur being sold a second hand gibson lespaul?

regarding the top binding, does all gibson standards and classics have the same bindings, meaning parang nagooverlap sa harapan. so when u look at it on top u would be able to see the bindings even if ur not looking at the sides?

are all the truss rod covers have 2 screws only?

are there plain tops and flamed tops available for the above mentioned model?

pag bell knobs, ano model? pag speed knobs what model sya nilalagay?

what about the decal? are the MOP decals inlayed?

pasensya na sa mga tanong. hehe. lets not talk about the serial muna kasi its very common na sagot e. thanks.

differnt years different specs- kaya you need the serial to trace the date

to shutterbugjohn: speed knobs, AFAIK, are installed in studio and custom models (but not all ata for custom models)..

not sure about sa bindings.. try to research on the links given by skunkyfunk... punta ka na rin sa www.gibson.com andun lang yun.

MOP logos, i think, are inlayed.. yung sa studio models naman, decal lang tlga..

truss rod covers, 2 screws lang tlga sa pagkakaalam ko. hehe. sorry puro hindi cgurado, pero un nga, try to research pa rin. goodluck!

by the way, ano ba les paul tinitignan mo? may pics ka? tignan natin. hehe

para sa mga experts meroon daw... quilt maple is always from the west- mas malambot itong variant na to.... while flamed maple can be eastern or western.... lespauls from the 50s use the stiffer eastern variant, and the newer historics from gibsom use only this type except for the quilt tops... eastern maple is preferred by most lp collectors

ayun. thanks! may pinag iisiapan kasi akong guitar dito, ung isa flame maple tobacco burst, while the other one is quilt maple pero blonde/amber na kulay??? basta un...parang malandi kasi tignan ang quilt pag bright color kaya nag-aalangan ako.

i vote for the quilt maple na blonde/amber! most lps i've seen have flamed maple tops. so para maiba naman, mag-quilt ka.

magandang quilt pag blue matteo ng prs... pag ibang kulay sa flame ako, mas maganda nga subtle flames lang, pag umiiba ng angle nagiibaiba rin

pinag iisipan ko pa, kasi parehong GUILD Bluesbird un guitar na tinutukoy ko...ang laki lang kasi ng body, kaya nag aalangan pako...ung tobacco na flame maple, nagmumukang maliit un guitar e, dark kasi un kulay...itutulog ko muna ito, tignan ko kung magbabago isip ko about bluesbirds..

kasi naman ang layo ko sa mga super dealers ng gibson e..

sa ibang state pa...kung bibili ako, sana sa ganun store ako makapag test...

maganda naman siya in fairness, kaya lang baka presyong orig ang ibigay sa iyo.
