"Ley Paul" as in Leyter Polsfuss?

"Lester William Polsfuss, known as Les Paul (June 9, 1915 – August 13, 2009) was an American innovator, inventor, musician and songwriter."

I don't see french anywhere.

A very long time ago, I was on the top floor of the UP Vanguard building waiting for my martial arts teacher to arrive. Mga 1995 or 1996 eto and i was just a 15-16 yr old high school student (the rest of them were undergrads and masteral students)

I was talking to my martial arts classmates, 2 of them in fact, and we were talking about guitars. and i kept on referring to the LP as "LESS" not as "LEH." They even "corrected" me kasi french daw.  I was pretty sure everybody there in the Dojo, heard our discussions.

I said "No". I told them about Les Paul, being an American, his full name is blah blah...you know the whole 9 yards...

to cut the story short, some one rushed towards me as he said "P(*&!!!! uupakan ko na to."

Good thing, the most senior member grabbed him (bear hug) and said "Pare bata pa yan. Kinse pa lang ata yan, papatulan mo pa?"

Flan-jer.

OT: may naalala akong lumang joke...

customer: (pumasok sa music store) "Meron kayong FLa-NGER ?"
sales person: "Sorry sir., wala po... Chorus[ tso-rus] lang ang available"

OT:

si deo (pronounced de-o) ay bahistang taga baliuag.  nag session sya sa isang grupo sa bulacan tapos nakita nya yung gitarista (embot) nakahilera mga 5 sigurong stomps.

deo: "embot, eh andai mo namang inaapakan, puro distorsyon ba lahat yan?"

...nakaraan ang ilang araw nakita nya yung kauna-unahan kong multi (zoom 1010):

deo: "ay ang gara naman nyang gadyet mo, andaing ilaw!"

true story, and if i remember it correctly those were his exact words.

I can't believe I've actually read all 11 pages of that. Hilarious.

On a related note, a LAG Tramontane should be pronounced as Tra-mon-teyn or Tra-mon-tayn?
And the ever-difficult to pronounce, let alone spell, line of pedals from Emma Electronics.
For me, if I am in doubt of pronunciation, I just subscribe to how GP or PG magazine calls it in their reviews.

Carry on

I don't know if this counts, pero I see this a lot in the classifieds section:

    GEARS
    HARDWARES
    STUFFS

It should just be GEAR, HARDWARE, and STUFF. These words are always plural.

    Just saying....
