What's the cheapest way to record using that line-in method?  :?

Relatively cheap na yun. Hehe. Ang M-Audio USB interface, nasa 7k. Maswerte ka kung makahanap ka ng used na interface for less than 5k.
I'm suggesting the Amplug kasi double-purpose. You can also use it to practice without having your dogs bark in the middle of the night.

use a stereo cable to connect any stereo line out to your 1/8" pc line in. it can't get any cheaper than that. quality compromised of course.

Oh yeah, I forgot about this. I'm also thinking that the threadstarter can work with this setup:
guitar-pedal-amp(with headphone out)-cable-line in.

make sure na naka-ayos yung settings ng pc at ng daw mo para gumana yung ganitong setup.

by the way, if you need to use a mic, plug your mic to a mic-in into a component/karaoke then the line out of that to your pc line in.

If the pedal is a digital multifx, those often have headphone outs and even line outs depending on the model. You could use those and bypass the amp altogether.

i just canvassed sa AP MOA kung magkano to. 2886 php to be precise. ang linis ng magiging recording mo nito kung sakali. dami pa variation ng tunog. may acoustic, bass, metal, ac30 at classic rock. astig! :-D

gusto pa nga ipa-try ni sir marlon sakin kaso ayaw ko kasi malamang ma-gas attack na naman ako. wala pa badget.  :-D
