« on: October 07, 2009, 04:35:20 AM »
Mge sirs, need to know, I'm using my dads old Nikkor Zoom Lens, I saw an aperture ring on the lens, I was wondering if I'll be able to use it? what setting should I change on my dslr aperture? should they be on same aperture? evertime I change? which one will I use to do my adjustment? Tnx. BTW I'm using a d5000

What lens is it?

I have an old 50mm 1.4 i use with my d80. I just everything manually on the lens.
I dont need to be aware of any aperture stops everytime i put it on or off

I dont know if its the same with the d5000.

Okay mine doesnt meter but you should be able to use the old lens only in manual mode.

Adjust the aperture on the lens itself and shutter speed on the camera.
