« on: May 07, 2006, 01:28:31 AM »

i hope you fellow forumers can shed some light on this problem.

thanks in advance.

or...

exercise lang yan, kapag sumakit itigil mo, pag nawala, tugtog uli, tapos ganon uli,, masasanay din yan.  8)

paano namamanhid?
as in parang tingling sensation travelling from the wrist to the hand?
sa pagguitar lng ba sir, or do you also feel the symptoms when doing other chores...
may weakness b or clumsiness?
gaano katagal sir bago mawala?

try to do this test sir, baka namanhid din yung wrist and hands mo within a minute, then thats a positive sign

alam mo bro, kung pati sa simpleng pagwawalis or ibang chores namamanhid yan, it would't hurt to visit your doctor di ba. baka nga naiipitan ka or something. none of us here can really be sure. just concerned kapatid.

sir, nung ginawa nyo ba yung test na pinost ko, na simulate ba nya yung "pamamanhid".. if yes, unsolicited medical advice lng po.. have it seen by a doctor personally.. it might be carpal tunnel syndrome, or some other nerve compression problems...

That's also my suggestion. Warm up before playing. Cool down after playing. If it's muscle pain, put some ice on it.

One of the things that most of us forget is the importance of properly warming up. Your problem could just be related to this. There are various ways of doing this, just google "guitar warm-up exercises" and you will see lots of different ways of doing it. Find out which one works for you best.

Or get yourself a Gripmaster. Check it out at http://www.gripmaster.org/ They're great. It's what I normally use to warm up before a gig specially when I don't have a place nor time to do it. It also helps in building up finger strength.

As some have mentioned, if you are getting the same issues doing other things then it's best for you to get it checked by a doctor.  But seriously, look into buying one of those Gripmasters. Whether you have medical issues or not it is great to have. I've even seen them sold in pharmacies as a tool for helping those who have arthritis and such too.

Hope that helps.

Kakahawak mo ng mouse at kakapindot sa keyboard may increase your risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome.

FZone Wrist Roller Ball

Quote
A wrist, grip and forearm strengthener which uses a gyroscope to provide a continuously variable amount of resistance. The gyroscope is started spinning with a short section of cord, then the Rollerball is moved in a circular movement with the hand - the faster you rotate your wrist, the faster the gyroscope spins and the more the resistance to movement increases. Use at high speeds to build huge power in arms, wrists and fingers, or at slow speeds for non-impact recuperation of sore or damaged limbs, or help reduce the inflammation caused by arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, RSI or tendonitis.

Develops grip, wrist and forearm strength. Improves your grip for bowling, golf, tennis, racquetball, weightlifting, any sport. Capable of spinning over 8,000 R.P.M

Available at Toby's Sports for P425 only.

pards
kailangan mo munang mag warm up exercises sa hands at wrist.( tama yung nag sabi na meron nun sa video ni john petrucci- it works). kung lagi kang nag ta type sa keyboard e repetitive injury yan sa kamay.. o maging sa guitarplaying din. kapag manhid yan eh me nerve na maga o me swelling sa kamay o wrist mo na naaapektuhan ang nerve kaya namamanhid. isa ito sa carpal tunnel syndrome. masahihin mo muna bago ka mag guitar o mag type. it increases blood flow saka nag wa warm up sa muscle. kapag medyo malala na e kumunsulta ka sa DR .. maaring painumin ka ng anti inflammatory na gamot o yung mga pain relievers na me anti inflammatory effect ( motrin, ibuprofen/acetaminophen etc).. kapag grabe na e baka injectionan ng steroid yang kamay mo o kapag nde na magamot e surgery na kailangan. i re release yung muscle na nakaipit sa nerve at yun ang totoong " ouch"!!..
