Review request: RJ SG

im planning to buy one kasi e... how does it sound? is the neck playable? craftsmanship? anyone?

bro, check mo yung neck pati yung body kung solid mahogany. check mo rin kung paano nakadikit yung neck sa body.

this guitar is quite light for a mahogany-bodied guitar..
pickups are nice.. good sustain..
craftsmanship.. hmm.. few flaws dun sa sg na na-try ko..
i don't like the plastic inlays.. better if mop inlays un.. it would eventually turn yellow kasi after a few years of use..

a bit off din sa orig sg curves..  

but in the end it's still all up to you
kasi ikaw din naman ang gagamit nun..

thanks for the feedback... im having a hard time deciding on whether to get an ibanez GRG150 or the RJ SG. i want  the looks of the sg but i dunno if the stock pickups can handle mad pinching. (its the only tech i have down pat lolz). chambahan lang ba ang good stock sa rj?

pre, hanap ka ng ibanez gax70, you get an almost SG porma with ibanez pickups.

pero kahit papano maganda rin yung RJ SG's pero i think mas maganda ang gawa nila sa les pauls nila kaysa sa SG's.

Yeah sale sila ngayon. I have my eye on an RJ Tele. Sounds decent naman. Definitely better than Rockstar guitars. O baka dahil full stack mini marshall yung demo amp nila ? Hmmm...

thanks for the suggestion. yeah i heard a lot of good things about the gax. but, a grg is a grg, and an sg is an sg... but a gax70 can never be an sg... parang ganun... hehehe...

I say go with the Ibanez too. Just check the craftsmanship pag bibili ka.
Maganda rin naman ang mga review ng GRG150.

o kaya ser magsama ka ng marunong tumingin ng gitara you should be after the tone not the looks kasi yun ang magbibigay sigla sa tunog mo.. kasi minsan tol, maganda nga ang itsura panget naman ang tunog. or go for a descent second hand guitars. share ko lang mga ser experience ko yung bago pa yung ibanez gio ko nun madalas nagiiba ang action therefore pa adjust ako ng paadjust.. tapos nung pinacheck ko kya daw gnun bata pa yung kahoy na ginamit nung una kong bili nyan as in puting puti yung neck parang bagong kahoy kailangan ko daw tlaga magtiis muna pero nung tumagal na sakin yung gitara ko well mdyo yung kahoy na maputi nanilaw na worth the effort na tumibay na cya pati di na basta basta nagiiiba yung action. suggetion lang ser go for the ibanez.. tutal magkaprice na din eh? tama si ser kulas mag ibanez ka na lang.

Suggestion din sir, try to PM those who are selling their GRG150 here and inquire their reasons for selling. You might encounter the same problems as what these people encountered with the product.You might want to have the GAX para mas malapit lapit sa SG, Ibanez pa.

maayos yung SG ng RJ, basta yung set-neck version kunin mo. meron kasi ako nakita bolt-on neck na RJ SG, wag yun. meron sila set-neck version, yung mas mahal ng konti.

its made from mahogany (all RJ guitars are, even the strats and teles...) kaya SG'ng SG yun

I'd also go for the Ibby. Perhaps you could just upgrade the tuners, pickups, etc. kapag nagka-pera ka ulet.

Ever considered buying second-hand guitars? Dami ring okay na guitars in that same price range.
