wow...I was surprised at the comparison. I was expecting the Blues Jr. would lead the Cub..but it was the other way around!

Also, having a smaller "cab", the Cub seemed to have a bigger headroom than the bigger Fender.

I wonder how the Cub would fare against a Pro Junior?

pro jr very loud for home usage. hehe.

personally since i'm probably done deaf anyway, i'll only get the pro jr because of the fender badge and i've owned a cub 10 before. kinda like an "upgrade".

Been lusting for pro juniors. They're cool amps in their own right. In terms of topology, it's almost the same with the cub10 save for the el84 vs 6v6 output tubes. Cub10 has gain and master volume controls, which may matter to some if you want to shape grit from the front end or from the output stage. Single volume controls work well if balanced right, but you gotta try different tubes if the headroom is lacking or you want the amp to breakup early. Both have external speaker outs.

Mahirap talaga makakuha ng totally clean tone sa amp na ito once na taasan mo na volume. Gritty clean lang at decent volume. Baka rin masyadong hot ang pickups. Try mo sa split position.

^Ganun ba bro, kala ko kasi may problema tong amp. Kahit kasi naka split coil ako ganun pa din. Tanong ko na rin kung sino pa pwede magpatingin ng amp dito? Pgg ginagalaw ko kasi yung gain and volume scratchy, ang panget pakingan.

Bnew bro? Kung brand new, try mo ipa-replace. Kung hindi naman, baka kailangan na ng tube replacement niyan.

I suspect bad tubes and/or misbiased power tubes. I can get a reasonably clean sound on my Cub 10, even with the volume almost full on. But then, in that scenario gain is at 8-9 o clock.

Out of the box laney cubs are rarely properly biased. Have it checked by a tech. I had a cub serviced and the bias was way off.

I'd say this goes for current production tube amps.  Tends to be on the cold side, but the purpose is so anyone can drop in tubes with middle ratings, and not have to worry about it running the amp too hot.  Best tones are at 60-70% plate dissipation, but tube life can be compromised.  Ok na ko sa 50% sometimes.

Anybody here with cub12? Is the FX loop good? Im planning to mod my cub10 to have an FX loop using cub12 FX loop.

I sold my Cub10. It was a nice amp,but the speaker was limiting its potential. I connected the Cub to a 2x12 with lead 80's and Wow! There was a vast difference in tone and volume. Mas malakas and mas maganda ung drive nya when cranked thru the 2x12.

I only sold it because I needed to crank it all the way to get to loud, and even turned all the way up,  bitin ako sa volume.  And it being only a 10 watter, setting it always on full blast would mean replacing the tubes more often. A pair of 6v6 for this amp costs the same as a Pair of EL34s for my Marshall.

But a great value for the price and a nice tone, as a base tone for od pedals or just guitar to amp straight up.

my Cub10 sounds more Fendery than my Pro Junior.  I love them both.
