Yung ang problema sir kapag madamot yung tech. Kung ganun sir masOK na keyboard amp gamitin nyo tapos LINE mode kayo sa POD XT live. Kapag guitar amp kasi nahahaluan ng ibang kulay yung tone ng XTL.

POD >> Live out (You chose the settings depends on your sound module as monitor) >> Monitor, Amps and etc. ( This would be your monitor )

Hey Xelly and ninmei! Update lang ako sa setup ko:

Nagreherse kame kagabe ng band ko and connected the PODXTL one straight to mixer, to a Mac (USB), and another, testing different situations with an amp (front of amp, slave-in/power-in, effects-loop, even CD/Line Input). First week palang ng PODXTL ko saken, 3rd Live situation ko palang to with the band, but had tons of perfect bedroom and office jams before. And here's a little review based my observations:

1. Sa kahit anong settings, the PODXTL works best in Line-In and recording situations, may it be to PA, PC, a software, headphones etc. Rating: 11/10. I think eto naman talaga ang purpose ng Line 6.

2a. When using the POD as a preamp - Eto sana yung gusto kong setup since I grew up an amp guy and one purpose why i bought the POD is to use it in conjuction to my amp and 2x12 cab. Pero as I tested it, may variables na dependent parin sa amp/speakers, so medyo critical parin ang consistency ng tone. My setup was Level Knob=Max, Input Switch=Amp, Output System=ComboPowerAmp. Kainis lang kase ang hina nun power section nung gamit kong 2x12. Rating: Ok na sana kaso lubog yung tunog ko dahil mahina yung buga nung speakers (Hindi ba dapat yung preamp/amp sim ng POD ang magdedeliver nung buga? O baliktad?). Hmm.

2b. When using the POD in front of the amp - nahirapan akong i-tweak to since I still want my amp sim tones. IMHO, nadedefeat ang purpose ng Amp Modelling if you'll plug in front of an amp. My setup was Level Knob=Max, Input Switch=Amp, Output System=ComboFront, GuitarAmp on flat then played with the MID EQ. Result, you disable the ampsim and use the POD as a multieffects unit. Sana nag Boss ME/GT Series ka nalang.   

2c. Connecting the POD to the FX Loop - Some amps disable their preamp when you connect to the FX Loop but most don't, like mine. So parang kumabit ka rin sa front of amp. Settings: Tweaked various combinations of IN and OUT settings but never got lucky.

2d. Connecting the POD to the LINEIN/CDIN of your guitar amp - since balanced ang CDIN, edi parang rumekta ka rin. +1 sakin ang setup na to if you want to use your amp as a monitor. I suggest you get a Stereo TRS to get its full potential, kase pag mono lang, medyo hindi amp yung feel eh. CONS: somewhat flat at less organic.

3. BONUS REVIEW! POD XTL and drive stompboxes - natuwa ako sa response ng amp sims ng POD pag may stompbox before it. I got this idea from a tonefreak that we all know as Lincoln Brewster and yes, I was amazed. Tested the following pedals: Boss SD1, Boss SD1 with JRC chip, Boss OD3, Ibanez TS9DX, Digitech Bad Monkey and like what I said, swabe ang response ng amp sims. Test nyo nalang pero it worked well for me.

Yon, comments, questions, suggestions, bato nyo lang. The PODXT is really good, though gusto ko pa maexplore kung anong kaya nya gawin with the 2A setup above. kung may alam kayong tricks paturo naman.

TIP:

when connecting to a cab, the pod automatically turns the MIC setting off, but it still keeps the cab model on, making it stack 2 cabs - the model itself, and the actual cab. try turning off the cab emulation and whala! real natural sounding preamp on your cab! the tone was alive and mine really sounded like the real (tube amp) thing!

^^ Naku hindi na pala ako nakareply sa inyo last time sir. Ask ko lang sir ano ibig sabihin ninyo sa "connecting to a cab"? YUng output ng XTL directly connected sa likod ng isang cabinet ganun ba sir?

yep! direct to back of the amp through either of the ff:

Power-In Input
Slave-In Input
Effects Loop Return.

My cab's a 2x12 so I tested most 1x12 and 2x12 sims from the POD XT and they do sound good!
I haven't tried connecting to a stack though. Pero naiimagine ko na kung gano kalaki yung magiging tunog.

Ah ok gets. Buti solve kayo sa nakukuha ninyong tunog. So far sir best na setup ko for Pod is line mode tapos saksak sa powered speaker(BEHRINGER B215A POWERED SPEAKER to be exact) para wala talagang kulay na padadagdag. Ayun rinig na rinig mo yung totoong tunog ng amp sim.

Yan din problema ko!! Dinuguan!!! Ang ginagawa ko nalang sir is todo tweak using my trusty headphones(dapat balanced talaga yung headphones para walang halong kulay) tapos diretso sa PA. Bahala na kung pangit tunog ng amp ko monitor lang naman yun. Ang importante alam ko maganda tone ko sa PA.

Gamit ko ngang monitor yung Aria Amp na 30w kahit papano okay naman tumunog kasi as monitor lang naman.
Ive tried adding drive pedals on the pod. +1 on the greatness na nagagawa pero IMHO parang overkill na sakin yung ganun thats why i sold all my pedals and stayed to the POD alone. Nasa tweak lang kung pano magiging organic or less digital yung tunog. 97% of the congregation hindi mapapansin na dinidigital natin mga tones natin haha.

Hanep the best na setup ko dati direct to PA tapos request ako sa supplier ng monitor na tunog ng gitara ko lang lumalabas!!! Sarap!! Kung gusto ko ng feedback hindi na ako tatalikod para ilapit yung gitara sa amp!! Ilalapit ko nalang sa monitor sa harap ko lalabas na ang magic feedback!!!

hmm, for the nth time, the PODXTL has failed me on a live situation. malala na tong love-hate relationship na to. mukhang mauuwi na sa divorce. hahaha

the gig area was kinda larger than our typical gig are so I and the audio guy tried 3 setups:

One was direct to PA, feeding me through the monitors - well, I can definitely say it has the cleanest studio quality sound but it didn't have the "umph" kaya when the drummer kicked in, ayun nilamon na ko.

Second was my typical setup, into the power section of my amp, output mode set to combopwramp - well, i did manage to get the "amp-like-breaking-up" response but the pod xt squeals everytime the drive stomp is switched on. weird.

Lastly, I did try to set it up in front of the amp not realizing its problem when connected this way - total tone suck.

So my final resolution was, well, grab my Boss OD3 and DD3 and played on without the hassle of tweaking and tweaking.

The unit has been with me for a month now, and using it 3 to 4 times a week. In my bedroom, it sounds perfect, pero ayoko namang maging bedroom gear lang to.

As you can see the drummer didn't drown him at all. Maybe there's something something about your gig's PA system. Or maybe just a bad mistake mix of the sound guy.

Dagdag GAS nanaman to for me to get an FRFR Amp (Atomic? haha). if PA man is the case... haha siguro bibilan ko nalang sya ng ice cream para i boost pa ako. hahaha

But man, the thing really sounds sweet when I recorded at home yesterday. Love/Hate talaga. hahaha.

At naexperience ko narin yung claims nyo that it lacks drive pedals. Lagi tuloy akong may baon na stomps (though I do like the PROCO RAT sim at low gain and low tone settings).

it doesn't have to be an Atomic Amp. Tyaka portability naman ng POD ang pinaguusapan so tingen ko hindi picky ang POD
sa PA. Swertehan na lang sa PA system siguro haha! Decent keyboard okay na bro! Kung talagang pihikan ka e Atomic na nga lang. Pero like Brewster, na travelling guitarist POD lang gamit niya e very convenient. Minsan nga he asks the event to buy a POD na lang at download na lang niya patches niya through net. Sarap buhay nun haha.
Dati naasa ako sa drive pedals noon pero ngayon hindi na POD alone na lang. You'll see what I mean pagdating ng panahon.
