Well, Marshall amps aren't the best but they still generally sound good. I think the amp in the video is a JVM, which is a really, really good and versatile amp. So ampwise, there's no reason for him not to sound good.

His Charvel looks like a bionic Suhr of sorts. A Strat-esque headstock, a 24-fret Modern-esque neck bolted onto a Standard-esque body. Notice how the neck is bolted onto the body: almost no space between the neck and the neck pickup (for larger wood contact area). GG used a Suhr Standard for quite a while prior to Suhr issuing him a signature Modern, so he should be right at home with his Charvel prototype.

Yes, JVM is a great versatile Marshall amp. That's just one of the few Marshalls today that still has that signature Marshall "punch." But changing amps every now and then won't really bother Guthrie that much. May it be Cornford, Suhr or Marshall, his tone is still as distinctive as a primary color.

Was the "blower switch" Guthrie's idea or John's? If it was John's, was it patented?

eto na. Mk1 prototype
whats  "purple monkey dishwasher" ?

"Purple Monkey Dishwasher" is just a comical phrase that formally translates to the distortion of facts when passed from person to person. 'Eto yung for example, may 20 persons, yung first person, may sinabing fact and then yung second person ni-relay naman sa third person and so on hanggang sa pag dating na sa 20th person, iba na yung sinabi nung first person.

Yah! Guthrie obviously took the backseat here and just let the Korean guy fly. But you can tell that Jeon overdid it. Jeon's sweep-picking, for a couple of times, for whatever reason, ended half-step the base root of the chord. Sa bagay, kahit ako sobrang kakabahan maka-jam si Godthrie. He he!

Demo from the man himself.

Specs:
Baked/roasted/caramelised maple neck with graphite rods for reinforcement
"Massive" stainless steel frets
Bone nut
Fender-style neck joint with sculpted heel for full upper fret access
Custom-wound pickups (by the same guy that did the ones on the EJ signature Strat)
Birdseye maple top with basswood body
etc.
