graphite rods in a roasted aple neck?

unless that thing doesnt have a truss rod, i think that it may be overkill...

Less prone to warping I guess?

You know stuff.. 5-piece necks with 2 titanium truss rods, locking tuneomatic posts, locking tuners with locking nut, etc. Some are just too much.

OT: Is "beyswud" an acceptable pronunciation of basswood?

Same way you pronounce "bass", as in the fish. Hehe.

Baka class B lang ang Charvel!

But I'm asking if "beys" is acceptable. Most of us know that "bas" is the correct pronunciation.

@gunslinger13 'Beys' is wrong, I suppose. Though basswood is commonly associated with building musical instruments, the 'bass' part doesn't necessarily refer to the musical term of the same name (as in, the vocal quality/pitch). That, and various Internet sources insist on the 'bas' pronounciation as the only way.

@spetsnaz1123 I think that's the first Charvel prototype, which has a koa body instead of basswood/maple.

hehehe. it'll need ulti-colored LED lights, too  :-D

But if we were to review guthries suhr antique modern vid, he confirmed that roasted maple doesnt budge, regardless of climate.

i've always heard it pronounced as bAEss-wuhd.

Basswood has been my least choice of guitar body but Guthrie's charvel was an exception. Ganda

Let's see if Charvel can reproduce equally resonant guitars once production starts. Prototypes are usually built with more detail since there's always a lot of experimentation involved prior to and during production of a test model.

Right. That's why prototypes are really for a keep, at least to me. I bet this axe weigh more than 9 lbs perhaps?

For a while there I thought he was endorsing Victory amps, too. He he!But yeah, prototype 2 looks and sounds great, but, my vote still goes to prototype 1. :-D

guthrie is incomparable with any guitar virtuosos. he's got his own unique style and he plays guitar like it't not a guitar anymore.  :nosebleed:

anung ibig sabihin pag prototype?

Prototype, bale, it's an experiment guitar pa. Tinetest pa ng guitar builder at ng artist kung ano yung kinalabasan ng kanilang collaborated ideas. If ever di satisfied yung artist, then usually, the builder makes another improved prototype keenly observing sa mga flaws ng previous prototype. Or maybe totally starting another idea na naman.

Kung satisfied na yung artist, then they will make it an official signature guitar na. Mass production na.
