Maybe ill try to listen dun sa mga old favorites ko, yung mga nakainspire sa akin para tumugtog

OT: speaking of keeping our guitar on shape, baka may spare parts kayo jan would you mind giving them for free hehehe (ie fret wires, old pots, pick up, etc) bubuhayain ko yung old guitar ko and ill promise no more GASing muna hehehe

 you're right tsong, natumbok mo, hehehe, i remember Joe Satriani once said in an interview he love listening to music of Bjork and he's thinking how can he add guitar lines to it if he will be given a chance, galing! tama ka, siguro sapat na kapag ok na yung gitara focus on doing our own sound muna, btw anu pala meaning nung GAS? sure ako ung "G" is guitar hehehe

im 19 now last year of teens i start playing guitar and having my band since 3rd year high school
and im freshly graduate from two years course in computer.(nahinto ako 1 sem before mag college). so i almost 4 years in playing guitar.(3rd yr college ako if 4 yrs course kinuha ko).sana hnd magulo kwento ko hehe...
i have a band before but not exist anymore..
and i have a new band nakakatugtog naman maayos yung banda napagkakakitaan din minsan if my demand samen..
 
 
 but i think masyado na malaki yung panahon para sakin i have no achievement in playing guitar.. as a musician..
upgrade ako ng upgrade ng guitars, effets pero naisip ko para saan?wala naman din atang patutunguhan sayang pera lang at panahon!
(correct me sa lahat ng mali ah)

this happens to anyone and everyone(the frustration)
don't be frustrated. ur very lucky u can acquire gear in some ways.
back in the mid 90s i know one very talented guitarist who doesn't have any gear,
he mostly practice with his cousin's borrowed acoustic.
to play an electric guitar he goes to his friends,
then trying out gears in Yamaha, RJ, and Perfect Picth music stores.
he does this just to keep practicing...because he doesn't have any gear yet.

he's one of the best and most versitile guitar players i know.

here's one important tip he told me.
he told me to go out and search for local guitar players who can play really good.
attend guitar clinics whenever there's one.
if you can afford then go overseas to see int'l guitar players. watch their live gigs.
and as others suggested hang out not only with good guitarist but with good musicians.
watch every move they do. how they deliver notes.
learn too appreciate good drummers,bass players,keyboardist,singers...all musicians.
approach them and make friends with them.
hear their stories on their way up to become a musician.
these people will guide you what you need to do.
just by watching a good musician closely no matter what instrument they use
can actually make you a better player in a very big way.

for me this is a very fulfilling and very inspirational experience.
it never lets me down.
whenever i see a good guitar player it pumps me up.
makes me wanna go home and turn on the metrinome at 200bpm.

Grabe naiiyak ako sa tuwa, kala ko nag-iisa lang ako. Actually maswerte pa ako sa iba. 15 years na ang nakalipas nung huli akong humawak ng guitar. at last august 2009 ay na-invite ako sa company namin na sumali sa isang banda, tuwa ako pero pressure rin kasi ang gagaling ng kabanda ko, pweding sabihin na ako ang nagpaparumi sa banda kapag praktis, minsan gusto ko nang umayaw kasi pakiramdam ko i am not doing any good in playing guitar, parang sayang ang bago kong biling electric at effects pero i must say na may pagbabago sa playing skills ko dahil sa kanila. Dahil sa post ng ibang taga-philmusic saying na their doing it for passion, parang nag-apoy uli ang hilig ko sa gitara. May dahilan ang diyos kung bakit ako muling ibinalik sa pag-gigitara kaya di ko sasayangin ito. Para sa iyo pre, bata ka pa at wag mong sayangin ang talent o skill na binigay sa iyo ng diyos. Ako plano ko na na kung di ako magtagumpay sa banda ko ngayon ay mag-apply ako sa church at dun ko subukang tumugtog. 

Katatapos lang ng Gig namin kanina, 2 shows at 4 repeated songs in every show. guess what, ang ginawa ko lang ay hagod sa strings at dasal na wag magkamali at ayun kahit di ganung kabigat yung part ko sa band sobrang tuwa ako nung makita ko yung bandmate ko na sobrang enjoy at saya sila at pakiramdam ko naman ay lalong lumalim friendship namin. Siguro isa ito sa mga dapat nating tingnan bilang ganap at di ganap na gitarista o musikero, na di man tayo sumikat ay nagkaroon tayo ng kaibigan at naging bahagi tayo, sila ng kani-kaniyang buhay.

man thanks for sending the story, wow what a guy, he played with those big names in music and he never have his own guitar back then!? and he played different types of music!? that's really inspiring, lam nyu mga tsong dito ko lang nalaman sa philmusic na pwede pala mag-try ng mga guitars sa mga music stores kahit hindi bibili, and thanks for those stores for giving the guy (firewaterjem's guitarmate)  a freedom to use their guitars eventhough they know he's not going to buy it, sana mabasa ng mga music stores ito at ng mga aspiring musicians...

Baka kaya frustrated ka, masyadong mataas ang expectations mo. Maaaring subconsiously o consiously naghahangad ka na sumikat ka na agad as in gusto mong maging celebrity agad, tapos hindi naman nangyayari. Ang advise ko lang, babaan mo ang expectations mo at enjoy what you are doing. There is no point in doing something na you dont enjoy, pwera na lang sa mga bagay na wala tayong choice kundi gawin natin para mabuhay.

kadalasan nakakadagdag ng frustrations yung mga personal trials na dumarating sa buhay. marami yan. sa kaso ko ser, may instances na na-disband ang mga dati kong bands, at dumating sa point na tinatamad na akong magbanda at tumugtog, sabayan pa ng mga killer major subjects sa college na required ng at maximum 4 hours of sleep a day lang...

maganda rin na i-refresh nyo uli yung moment na first time mong magkagitara, flashback ka until the time na nag-eenjoy kana sa mga gigs mo noon. re-live the moments, ika nga.

try nyo rin maggitara leisurely habang nagrerelax, say in a windy summer afternoon, nakadungaw ka lang sa bintana, strum-strum lang, imbento ng riffs, at hayaan nyo lang mag-spark ang imagination nyo spontaneously. possible din na makagawa pa ng bagong compo.

di na kasi ulit kami tinawagan dun sa bar na tinutugtugan namen eh nalakihan siguro dun sa demand namen na budget pero standard naman yun eh 300 eh..

want kasi nila 200 eh hindi naman pwede yun.. ayun wala na parang tinamad nawalan ng gana..di na nagsisipra di nageensayo..

panay gas lang inaatupag ko now.. pero baka sa april 10 may tugtug kami new bar yun bubuksan palang hehe

hehe oo eh.. mahina pa daw yung bar kaya di daw nila kaya yung budget namen hehe eh dami ngang tao patok na patok tapos wala daw kita hays may mga tao talagang ganun eh..

tinatamad ako magensayo para kasi akong laging umuulit sa umpisa eh laging putol putol

dati atleast 2 hours per day nagguitara as in tuloy2 yun minsan before kumaen after kumaen guitara lang bukod pa yung sipra dun and jam .. puro exercises lang gagawin ko..

pero ang layo na ngayon..nawala na din pati yung pagiging aggresive ko sa guitara.. biglang tabang..

dati  ang want ko lang magguitara ng magguitara.. yung tipong hihinto ka sa pagod mo sa pagguitara..
now wala pa nga sa init ng kamay hinto na.. haysss..
