do you use automatic voltage regulator on your set up?
« on: February 16, 2010, 11:29:30 PM »

we currently use a 10kVA servo avr on our rental system,, para i kapusin ang power for system especially sa amps, mahina output ng amps pag mababa line voltage,, and may premature clipping pa

I am not sure if some amps are equipped with Power Factor Corrector feature?  This feature will surely help solve a lot of AC related problems aside from using AVR.

some power amps amps with switch mode power supplies are now equipped with PFC feature.. like qsc pl 9.0 PFC,, di ko lang alam kung may features na rin mga ibang powerlight models nila

me using this one sa amp and other equipment except lights. i have 5 units this voltage regulator. i bought this wayback 2001 ng mag sara ang planta na pinapasokan ko dati sa cavite, nabili ko sya 3k isa

rated power out is 220v 48 ampere stable kahit bumagsak pa sa 190v ang input power.

since na ginamit ko to sa rental never nasiraan ako or naputokan ng amp or other equiptment. protect your investment sa mapanirang voltahe ng meralco, mahal mag paayos ng equiptment hehehehe

ano mas maisusuggest niyo? power conditioners or avr na lang? dapat rin bang lagyan ng avr or power conditioners yung mga powered speakers

mas ok combination of both,

power conditioner (Surgex or Furman) w/ MOVs - for power surge or spikes

avr (servo type) - power regulation  :-)

voltage regulation - pinipilit nya maging stable yung output voltage kahit pa tumaas o bumaba yung input voltage.

power/line conditioning - inaalis nya yung noise sa kuryente. this is just a technical jargon for filtering and most power conditioners dont do voltage regulation even if you see a volt meter on the face plate.

if i were to use an avr and a furman power conditioner at the same time, isasaksak ko muna yung avr tapos sa avr ko isasaksak yung furman.

some of the newer servo avrs also have line conditioning built in so you dont need to buy rackmount conditioners unless you need a fancy light for your rack.

then there are power distribution units like this behringer pl2000 unit

its just a rack mount version of this with a light. buyer beware.

anu mganda avr for power amps, foh board and processors? where can i buy one? ang amp and ko is crell ca25,ca20,ca6. mackie mixer, dbx eq, driverack pa+, dbx limiter. kelangan ba ang mixer ikabit din sa furman power conditioner? tnx po in advance.. mas maganda cguro kung may diagram din kung panu wirings e.g. processor to furman then to avr? amps to avr? mas mganda ba kapag sa isang outlet lng ang avr ng amps at avr ng processors? para pag bumigay sabay2 mamatay lahat? saka may question pa po ako regarding sa lights like par64 anu mga kelangan mo dto? like dimmer packs? how about ung connections like breakers, etc?? wala akong idea. salamat ulit.. dame kong tanong..hehe. :-D

Yep.

AVR gamit ko sa laptop & audio int'f... it helped eliminate the pesky constant audio chirps.

add ko lang...

the pesky constant audio chirps in my initial recording back then was caused by the outlet's AC supply.
I only thought of it for about a week after having the annoying chirps, when one time I was trying to sleep & i noticed
my electric fan giving this low frequency noise that sounded constant, that it tend to have a little mechanical sound variation while its running.
then i thought, that's the AC supply from the outlet. & only a voltage regulator would lessen it.

then ayun... heeheh.

wala lang, share ko lang.

I'm from munti to just like peeves24 and yes, masagwa talaga kuryente dito. AVR is a must. I use servo-type din gamit ko 2000VA from Hossoni. Been using it for 5years now and our church sound has been way better.
