what if.. let's say.. for example.. i'm a mixing engineer.. i've recorded everything that i need in a daw.. but i wanna use my mixer.. let's say i have a vintage neve console.. and i don't want my console to be just pre amps for my mics and instruments.. can i route every track again back to my mixer.. do level adjustments with it run it through outbard gears and effects and record it into another daw but as a final stereo mix..?

like this:
(adjust levels.. etc..)    (add eq, effects etc..)
16 audio tracks >> 16 channels in my mixer <--> outboard gears     >>into another daw as a final stero mix

will this idea work?

Scroll down and read 'Analog Summing Mixers'. You can also google the subject.

summing for ex: yung vox and bass track mo naka out 1st stereo pair na naka-center, yung instruments naka out sa 2nd stereo pair pan LR, same sa drums, tapos effects din same. over all output mo 8mono track summed to 4stereo track summed to 2stereo track! yung last stereo track yun na ang final mix.

The SOUND.

It doesn't have to be a very expensive console.
