Help: Professional Paint Job on Guitar
« on: March 05, 2010, 12:51:20 AM »
Ei, Philmusic peeps. I'm looking to have my guitar painted by a professional/experienced...uh...guitar painter.

Yes, I've read (not skimmed) all the pages and threads on DIY Painting.
No, I don't want to do it myself.
Yes, I have the patience to wait for a painstaking artistic project to be done to my beloved axe.
No, I am not stingy when it comes to caring for said loved one. I did say that I want a professional job.
Yes, I wholeheartedly trust the philmusic community and have never had any transactions or dealings go awry with anybody here.

I liked the metallic finish of one of the philmusic frequenters (i.e. the greenish, neonish one, I think), but I'm looking to have mine done somewhere in the lines of this kind of design:

I already have the overall scheme in my mind which will be a singe to explain, but the not-too-ostentatious-watery-effect is what I'm really after here, as well as the sharp paint job on the logo (and the awesome control on the grey scale/shading of the design).

If anyone here can point me to anyone who can do this to my guitar, then that would be utterly awesome.

On a similar note, since I can never seem to get the search function to work for me in this site EVER, any connections or networks to capable luthiers/ guitar-savvy people handling fretboard inlaying would also be sincerely and eternally gratified. That, too, I have a feasible design in mind as well (if it can be done at all).

Thank you for your time and patience in reading this, good Sir/Ma'am. Any constructive response would be much obliged. *handshake* *head bow*

Hi.. that intricate design can be done through airbrushing..
i just don't know which person to recommend..

however.. for the inlay stuff, you can try these luthiers.. they can also be found on the Sticky FAQ thread sa taas..

FAQs regarding GUITARS:
do you want to customize your guitar? does your guitar need repairs? here are some luthiers.
- John Dela Cruz of Elegee Guitars (with pics and samples) http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,33228.0.html
- Arie Hipolito of Guitar Hospital http://www.guitarhospital.net
- Jun Castro of Roadtone Guitars http://www.roadtoneguitars.com/
- Max Rufo of Max Rufo Guitars http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,56756.0.html

about the search function.. it rarely works, at the least the one inside this forum.. but the one on the philmusic homepage works.. feel free to try it..

look for the search bar on the upper right part.. it works.. just an added info..
