i am planning to get an external hardrive that is good and cheap cause i need to backup 3 pc's that have 80gb worth of data on them each and i was wondering what would be a good backup external hardrive that is not on the pricey but is a very reliable hardrive
comments and suggestions will be highly appreciated

yung cdr king enclosure, since sata yang western digital, kunin mo yung 3.5hdd enclosures nila..Php580 lang yun..or you could just bring that hdd that you bought and have it fitted with the right enclosure powh

marzi, may difference ba kapag External HDD talaga tsaka yung HDD na nakalagay lang sa enclosure? May bad experience kasi ako dun sa mga nakalagay lang sa enclosure eh.

These. This. +1. Get the 320 (or 350?) or 500gb by seagate, western digital. They work well. Transcend sells them in 'shock proof' versions. They're 500-1k more expensive than the first two. Simple solution: get a thick padded bag for the non 'shock proof' versions (seagate, western digital). you save money for sure. Lots of those stuff at Acenet VMALL Greenhills. Look for Tems. Amazing customer service.

Got a 1TB external drive (HP), Php 5,200.00. Meron ding Seagate na 1TB, flat Php 5,000.00. By the way, these drives require power supply (included).

aww sorry sobrang late reply..nabaon na tong thread na to di ko nasubaybayan..

sa enclosure kasi pag pangit pagkaka-assemble mo, kahit mamahaling enclosures pa bilhin mo, di mo talaga makukuha yung expected na performance nya..nasa pag iingat mo naman yan eh..may mga kakilala akong gumagamit ng generic enclosures na galing cdr king lang. hell, kahit yung IT namin sa sykes dati yung hdds naka cdrking enclosures lang din pero ok naman daw performance e..isa pa, hard drive na may disc at pins ang gamit mo, yung dapat eh nasa isang lugar lang tulad ng loob ng cpu case mo at hindi yung bitbit at laging naaalog...

yung sa external hdds like seagate free agent or WD passport series, gawa na talaga yun so malamang controlled na ang quality nun before pa lumabas ng factory..yun nga lang, mahal na yung iba dun dahil isa yun sa mga unang gumagamit ngayon ng solid state hard drives o hdds na wala ng disc at pins sa loob at puro chips at electrical components na lang..
