I believe it's the industry-standard Remo Coated Ambassador.

thanks for the reply bro! By the way, are there any difference with the US made Coated Ambassadors to the stock Coated Ambassadors (the one installed when bought brand new)?  :-D

i want my toms to sound warm, low and has a quick decay. parang "touuum" haha. yung tipong may pitch bend sa huli na mabilis2 ng onti.

what i bought were emperors on top and ambassadors sa bottom...

anyway, this is PURELY for recording meaning miced yung buong set.

makukuha ko kaya sound na gus2 ko?

ambassador and pinstripes
« Reply #188 on: June 15, 2008, 05:34:19 PM »

emperors are double ply. double plies are heavy therefore will never be more brilliant than an ambassador or a diplomat

e.g. kunin mo si g2 or any other double ply head (pwede rin pinstripe). alisin mo sa drum. as in hawakan mo lang tapos tap mo sya. pakingan mo maigi tunog. you will hear a dull, thud sound

tapos kuha ka rin ng ambassador (or any single ply) lalo na yung snare side head. tunog plastic yun pero mapapansin mo mas mataas pitch nya kesa dun sa mas makapal na head

of course, this simple test wont work kung bugbog sarado na yung head mo

ibang usapan na kung alin mas mataas na pitch sa g2 or emperor  :-D but you really cant compare single ply heads against double ply. just go with what sounds good on the drum that you are using and what you hear is best.

For a high pitch head I too suggest the Remo Ambassador.

PS. They are called heads as in drum heads and not skins.

G2 heads produce a fat and focused sound hindi at ito more into high pitch unless you crank up the heads, but definitely durable. Single ply allows great projection and added warmth.

Skinhead nlang itawag natin para cool...hahaha

oo nga naman...
yung skin kasi ginagamit sa bonggos, conggas, djembe.....

ie: goat skin, cowskin and so on and so forth....  :-D
