guys tanong lang ako ng opinion nyo kung ano mas maganda powerstroke 3 or powersonic for bass drum hindi ako makapag decide eh hehe

gawin mo siguro, powersonic batter then ps3 sa reso. for sure, di mo na kailangan ng muffling.  :-D

Masayang masaya ako sa empreror x!

Nilagay ko sya sa 6.5x14 Pearl Steel snare ko and it killed the overtones without removing the sensitivity (ofcourse, a notch more sensitive pa rin kapag ambassador)

Why I liked it? Ang ganda ng crack, killed the overtones, and no matter how hard you hit, alam mo it wont let you down.

If you use deep steel shells, I think winner to

Hi guys,

meron palang remo product thread dito. hehehe.

dito ko nalang post ang tanong ko.  :-)

has anyone here used ps3 on both sides sa bass drum? kamusta naman tunog? im aiming sana for a nice deep sound ng bass with a little resonance... hindi ung solid na "thud" sound lang. im curious kung ps3 on both sides then walang muffling and hole sa reso... ano kaya kalalabasan tunog nun? any inputs guys?

also, im thinking of going for the emperor X on the batter of my snare... can you recommend a good reso? im aiming for a nice bright clean sounding snare na may konting ring parin, not ung dry na dry na sound.

also, is it advisable to use similar heads for both batter and reso? for example, clear emperors on both batter and reso for my 13" tom. ok kaya un?

i haven't ventured much in the realm of head selection and tuning. pasensya na for the many katanungan. hehe.  :-D

any pieces of information will truly be appreciated.

Thanks.  :-)

hi bros, as for the bass drum sound, ok yung PS3 sa batter and reso IMO kasi most stock BD heads have the same concept na internal muffling/ring.. nasa tuning mo na lang kung paano mo makukuha yung tunog na gusto mo, best to go with medium tuning para may ring ng konti..

for the snare sound, use diplomats para ok ung resonance and sensitivity ng snare mo.. emperors are dotted so best to use these sa steel snares, if wood snare ka, use ambassador coated..

as for your toms, experimentation is the best key to get a good sound.. hindi ko pa kasi na-try using both emperors sa batter and reso, most likely malalim ang tunog nun without any hint of brightness, if it sounds good go for it..

as for head selections and tuning hope these other links would help out! cheers!

sir, given na limited budget, I think it might be a premature decision na Empreror X bilhin mo. Don't get me wrong, I love this snarehead. But I don't think its for everyone.

You are right with the steel part. What about depth?

More importantly, what kind of sound are you looking for? Emperor X is very much at home with tight tuning (imo).

Maybe, if you are unsure, baka better ang Ambassador for you muna..

Hi sir myles,

Thank you very much for the response. highly appreciated po.  :-)

im looking for a bright sounding snare. ung may "ring" parin ng konti and not ung dry sound. i dont know if i've described it correctly... hehe.  :-D

depth of my snare? hehe... forgot to measure. i'll post it here once i get the measurements.  :-)

question po sir, whats the difference between the ambassador and the emperor X? also, just out of curiosity, what did you mean sir when you said that "i dont think its for everyone"?

Again, thanks po sir.  :-D

the difference between the emperor-x and ambassador is that emperors come with a dot as compared to pure single ply heads like ambassadors.. thus, a dot is more controlled so to speak compared to pure single ply heads that could ring freely.. hence the quote, "i dont think its for everyone" because it would depend on your sound preference at the end of the day.. cheers!
