Anyone here who has CAI (cold air intake) filter installed under their hood? I'd appreciate any feedback.

I had one currently in my Falcon and previously on my Commodore. Nice suction sound kapag nagrev.

Siyempre pag nag palit ka to a CAI, kelangan mo rin magpalit ng headers, cat, exhaust at retune yung ECU.

Basically you're letting more air into the engine. Yung ECU tune will correct the stock fuel and air mixture. With the complete upgrade, expect more HP from your car than stock.

You can do the upgrade on a 4 banger. Personally, I don't like the upgrade on 4 cylinder cars (tunog lata, siguro ok pag may turbo charger). Love it on the V6 and V8 engines. The car will burn more fuel too.

Here's a monster car with full upgrades in action

So dito applicable yung mga "siyento-bente"?

well what it does is pinapaganda niya yung higop ng hangin mo hehe. kasi naka labas yung other end niya sa labas ng engine bay. probably pinaka common na makikita mo is yung cone nung filter eh nasa loob Short ram ata tawag dito common ito sa mga honda mitsu at toyota. doesn't really add hp haha kung meron man ga buhok siguro the only way to find out is have it dyno. pero kasi you have to upgrade it as a whole eh headers, pipes, pa port match mo yung intake muffler, etc mahaba pa yan. haha

So in short, it's not really a significant upgrade for 3-cylinder engines. Tama ba?

hindi naman hehe pwede pa rin naman mag upgrade ng performance kahit 3 cyl lang yan. yun nga lang you have to upgrade it as a whole a bolt on or plug and play cold air intake kit na readily available sa mga shops won't give you a guaranteed increase of hp. pwedeng meron pwede ding wala we would never know if may nag gain sa auto if hindi mo siya i ttest sa dyno hehe. yung filter na yun yep it would help kasi less restriction ang pag pasok ng hangin eh . so anong next nun? stock headers, stock pipes etc etc parang rig din yan kelangan as a whole  same with 4 cylinders, 6 or 8etc. CAI is a good upgrade kung mura but won't give you that need for speed feeling that goes around your head :)

for example ako stock engine ako minodify ko yung intake system ko DIY ang akin hehe and carburador ang gamit ko tapos hindi din stock muffler ko. I never did noticed any changes pero im sure lumuwag kahit kaunti ang pasok at labas ng hangin sa engine ko . I like to keep it stock dahil mas gusto ko ang daily driven. hehe if I wanted to go fast I would go for an engine swap rather than pa unti unting upgrades dahil yung engine ko is made for economy. hehe and yes kakambal na ng mabilis na makina ang malaking Fuel consumption

Spot on! This does it for me. I guess I'll stick with stock since daily driven din oto ko and it's designed to be economical in terms of fuel consumption.

malabo yan papi, ika ni mammonchipz gabuhok na gain, which you can easily solve if you drive faster

although good idea siya, by itself, it won't do much. a friend of mine runs a cold air intake on his mirage (a 3-some este 3-cylinder motor) ok naman daw.

di pa ko nakatry degreaser. i do it cheap - a liter of crudo, some left over gasoline or carb cleaner!  :-D

ito lang take ko on the whole "go faster" thing = drive fast.

your car does not need to have insane acceleration to be fast, and a car will only be as fast the driver can make it go. if you check out your local trackday, may mga tumatakbo na bone stock oto, but can drive faster than that guy with a tricked out car. mas apparent ito sa autocross / slalom, you will see guys turning in below 1 minute times in a track designed to be taken in at least a minute. most people will be amazed at how fast their car can actually go if a really good driver is behind the wheel.

let's face it, gastos mag mod ng oto - most of us would rather spend the money we save on gasoline for GAS. libre gumaling sa pag hawak ng oto, puhunan mo lang oras at diskarte.

i'd say enjoy the drive, hindi naman kailangan laging naka pirme ng 140 km/h para enjoy  :-D

btw, has anyone tried the Nissan GT Academy? ansaya saya lang hehe

ingat din tayo sa daan. driving fast is best done in a safe, controlled environment. or with someone who knows what they're
