I'm more into Hale's lyrics than Cueshe's, even a grade two student could come up with that kind of poetry. And of all the bands that sprouted this 2K, I like Stonefree the best. Good music, great musicianship - siyempre pati Bamboo.

Tabi tabi lang po...hindi ko rin trip si Bamboo M. as lyricist. Una kong napansin sa Rivermaya yun sulat nya, tas sa Bamboo ngayon...imo lang ha.

Asteeg yun sa Eraserheads kun sa lokal at Mr. Big sa international, mababaw lang ang lyrics pero hindi sulat ng bata ang dating.

my take on "pogi" rock bands. ok naman sana yung music nila eh (though some sound really cheesy) pero what i don't like about them is the attitude. they feel like they're "the men" lalo na yung favorite band nating lahat, hehe. i see 'em walking around the office after a guesting, kala mo kung sino sila. at yung si "bayani" eh may dalawang roadie pa tagabuhat ng guitar and rig nya, hehe.

however, there are bands that i like, sugarfree (simple songs lang pero catchy) sandwich, urbandub.

Stonefree has to be one of the most unique Pinoy bands I've heard. Nag lulupit pa ng guitar tones nila. In their latest single "Langit"..they have something for everyone. Heavy humbucker sounds (for me), a bass solo for those who like that, & a strat outro.

And the voice! The moment I get that kind of voice, I'm gonna start singing!

Urbandub naman...when someone let me listen to their songs, akala ko foreign. They're that good. But I'm not into really dark songs. "First of Summer" lang yung trip ko.

And of course si Bamboo. Very different sound din from other bands.

Notice that these 3 bands' songs are not commonly covered/sung on noontime shows.

eniwei, ewan ko ba ngayun.... it's more on pogi+pang-masa song ang labanan sa mga recording labels... i guess napapansin ko lng dahil sa mga sumisikat na banda ngayun... and of course, my "bitterness" with the said band!!!

pansinin nyo, ang daming magagaling na artist/lyricist/band ngayun na mali pagkakapackage sa kanila... nde masyado marketed...

If Rocksteddy released an album of all-English songs, they can actually sound foreign. Magaling si Teddy (vocalist) kumanta in English. Ang magaling nga talaga ang guitarist nila.

charles pareho tayong opinion pagdating sa style nun sa spongecola kumanta, yun technique niya na "MADIIN".

hindi ako nakikinig sa kanila, simpleng, hindi ko lang type, napansin ko na lang boses dun sa ULTRAELECTROMAGNETIC JAM", nun kinover yun "Pare Ko". Accented todo yun mga words. Maganda naman ang music educ sa Ateneo ah.
