The Line 6 Tonecore footswitch is actually two switches in one. But I think only the Echo Park takes advantage of it. Tapping on it lightly controls the tap tempo and pressing down on it harder bypasses the effect. I don't agree with turi that it's
hard to engage, but it does require some getting used to. At the very least you won't need a Boss FS-5U for tap tempo.
Make no mistake about it... the Echo Park is a fine delay pedal. I have one and I don't bother with any other compact delay unit (single pedal). The only real problem it has, in my opinion, is that it doesn't like to share power supplies with other pedals. Aside from that, the only real advantage of the DD-7 which I'm seeing is the looper function, and of course, the chassis, if you like the sturdy classic Boss pedal design.
And yes, if you haven't done so, do check the specs for yourself.
