Yo mga sir!

Just heard the news from my teacher. Mamady Keita will be conducting his Mini-Guinea workshop here in Singapore on Sept. 10-19.

Di bale may mga plans pa kami ng group, we hope we'll grow into a bigger drum circle and encourage more hand drummers to participate.

Kahit nasa SG ka your always a part of this collective bro... " To encourage and to Inspire"

MAMADY KEITA’S MINI-GUINEA CAMP ASIA

About MAMADY KEITA’S MINI-GUINEA CAMP ASIA

Mamady Keita, the great djembefola from Guinea (West Africa), will be holding his Mini-Guinea 2010 Asia djembe workshop in Singapore. There will be 8 days of workshop for djembe players of intermediate level and above. Mamady will be teaching traditional rhythms, solo technique and his compositions.

Tuition starts 10 Sept Friday morning at 10AM with a 4 hour all levels class. During this 1st class, Mamady will decide which students will be in the first group, typically considered "Intermediate", and which students will move on to the second group (at 12PM), typically considered "Advanced". In the evening there will be a 2 hour performance class, all levels combined, called the Pyramid class. In the Pyramid class, Mamady will teach students a performance, to be presented to the public on 19 Sept after the entire workshop. There will be a rest day on 13Sept.

Participants can also expect to see djembe performances by various percussion groups on some evenings after the workshop. On the night before the Pyramid Performance when the workshop has ended, there will be an opportunity where all participants can get together for a party. Our grandmaster drummer Mamady Keita will definitely be there!
