Which one sounds the sweetest for both live and recording?

I find the Twin Reverb sweet, but it is a bit loud for cranking.  I do have to test it against a Super Reverb and Deluxe Reverb though.  Or maybe a Princeton Reverb would be cool too?

The twin reverb and the DRRI are the ones i've tried. in this case, the DRRI gets the vote from me.

Assuming you are talking about a blackface Princeton Reverb:

Recording angry BF lead tone with no pedals - PR
Recording in general and for small live venues with a full band - DR
Medium sized live venues with pedals/Big live venues without pedals - SR
Big live venues with or without pedals - TR

As a general rule, the 6V6GT's in the PR and DR will give you the sweetest tone when cranked. The 6L6 types in the SR and TR will have higher headroom.

Yun na!

If you play really small venues like we have here in Manila, pwede na rin PR to take the place of DR, altho better pa rin kung DR for a little bit more headroom.  Both SR and TR sound great but are out of the question for me in terms of gigging because I can't carry them!  But I'm always excited when I find them as house equipment in some clubs.

Be aware re reissues, just because they are made by Fender co. you  would  think it sounds  same as a real 65 blackface DR- ,not so. Sometimes better to get the hand wired if you want real close tones to real thing. Also amp boxes made from compressed wood sounds totally different from pine amp boxes. Beware, check out vintage stuff construction.

deluxe reverb at super reverb! tons of mojo!

the twin reverb is so-so for me...

but THE TWIN (the one w/ channel switching) kills 'em all!

100w tube of blackface in yo' face!
