depends on how comfortable you are

the farther the beater the lesser tension, the closer the beater the tighter the tension. dont bother with the distance yet, just play the pedal and look for your comfort zone  :wink:

Ang ganda ng control kahit heel down at heel up man.

:wink:

ok kc ako 4" away from the head as virgin donati said also. mabilis xa saka may force. mabilis kc ung 1-1.5" kayalang baka mahina ung tulog nya. icanplaydrums.net also recommend 4". but im still experimenting.

Hehe.

IC = Iron Cobra

felt = traditional bass drum pedal beater material
rubber = has more punch
plastic/wood = for a sharper attack

Axis Sonic Hammers are great too. as what one would expect from good old customisable axis: it offers more adjustable beater head contact distance/angle options despite oem beater angle/height adjustability of pedals. have tried one out and im lookin around to gettin one soon:

comes with a couple of easily changeable beater surface options: wood, felt, plastic, rubber. hope this helps.

yep dude, as i've mentioned, the beater comes with a couple of interchangeable beater heads. regardin its availability in pinas, yep i think no one sells em there, so we would have to purchase it online, cost around US$20-$30 a pop.

batter head wear is relative to personal use.
pero yes, kahit medyo mahina ka tumadyak (for lack of a better work) ng bass drum, mapapabilis nga ang pagkasira ng bass drum batter head mo kung plastic beater ang gamit mo. and lalo na kung walang protection yung area na tinatamaan ng beater head.

merong mga locally available na "bass pads" na pwedeng magpatagal ng buhay ng head mo. or better yet, you can try going DIY. pwedeng foam na dinikit using tape, etc...
