 5. beck-sea change (the latest and i think his best ever...melancholy never sounded so great..)

6. yo la tengo- and nothing turned itself inside out (proves that the velvet underground still lives on in the hearts of those people whose lives changed because they existed...)

7. the fall- hex enduction (somethings are better left unsaid..i say you check it out yourself..)

8. pavement-slanted and enchanted (i know a few chords, im in a band, i can make my own songs...what more do you need?)

9.stereolab-cobra and phases play groop play voltage in the milky night (first heard this when i was still in the P.I. and it really blew me away..if this wont blow you away perhaps the beach boys dis either..)

10. the pixies - death to the pixies ( at the eve of my death i hope this is the last album i get to listen to...)

i have no friends..i have no families..i miss the Philippines...i am alone in this strange land encountering faceless strangers everyday..i feel like a ghost and music is my only refuge...im sorry if i sound too ****ed up thats because i am but if you have a hard time getting these albums or anything...write me and  i'd be glad to help...anything to spread the beauty of music..

well, their album (hybrid theory) isnt exactly pop, its more into nu-metal.

nakakasawa nga ung mga kanta nila, lalo na pag hinalo mo sa meteora, pero hybrid theory is still unique for me. For me they perfected the driving, rap/melodic song, complete with the rather inspiring riffs.

wala lang to, gusto ko lang maglagay ng meaning:D

nu met·al
Talentless, corporate music that is created by major record companies and marketed to scared, suburban teens in an effort to ween them off of boy bands and into another demographic.

or

nu met·al
The music is more raw and aggressive than the Metal of the 80s and 90s. There is generally an absence of a guitar solo, and more emphasis placed upon the rhythm guitar.

POP HAS FREED US...
« Reply #22 on: June 20, 2003, 10:23:18 PM »
korekt ka dyan, tol! if you think about it even if its nu-metal or whatever you wanna call it..it is still pop in the sense that it caters to a certain auditory pleasure that is targeted to a certain market...basically it is music that does not need any psychological or mental or intellectual pre-requisite...its just something that catches you right away in the right places at the right time....ya know? pop..as in popular...as in pop culture...hybrid theory was indeed a good album...but it is technically a pop-rock album...i dont intend to sound like im an audiophile even if i am...if you really wanna go anti-pop..try The Swans (not Zwan), Godspeed You Black Emperor, Deerhoof, Mogwai, The Fall, Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band...however there is nothing wrong with pop music because basically pop  is pop..heres some bands that remind us that pop actually is capable of eating itself...Belle and Sebastian, Beulah, Papas Fritas, Stereolab, etc....

at the end of this all...none of what i said really matters...music is music..but for me good music is something that can make the listener really listen (because music is made to be heard) and say to himself [gooey brown stuff]! how da hell did they pull that off?"

i remember yesterday whne the world was so young...
is that you lolo? look at my mole..oh yeah
