Not so long ago, i don't like strat-shaped guitars.
for the basic reason that i don't like the upper horn poking my chest. i feel its uncomfortable.
it is for that same reason also, that i like LP, V or other non-chest poking guitars... and as i agree with what mr. chutchutmamiko mentioned, it is primary.
although i had the chance to own strat shaped guitars back then, eventhough, i don't like the shape.
i can't do much about it, coz it was the only guitars i can afford then.
so, when i had enough dough to buy the guitars that i like... i firstly rid of the strats & replaced 'em with Vs.
(V shaped guitars are more comfortable than explorer ones, for me)
but eventually, i got the craving of having a single-coil tone out of a neck position pickup.
I can only do this if i get a strat.
so, even if i personally don't prefer 'em strats... i just had to find one that is the most comfortable.
(the one that don't hurt much if it pokes my chest
)
in effect,
i can now easily look at strats & appreciate them.
unlike before that i immediately shoo them off and look somewhere else.
Bottom line...
I still like people to love strats, even before, yun naman kasi gusto nila e.
We are all unique, that's why our likes & dislikes are also unique.
