Elixirs for me. I'm a heavy bend and vibrato player and  in my experience, Elixirs easily dent on where the strings make contact with the frets. After a few weeks, these dents get wider and they just feel like crap to bend and to use vibrato on..they feel very rough  Very uninspiring to play. I went back to using D'addarios and never looked back.

in my experience naman (same with Rmansh)... parang alambre yung feel. im used to using D Addario's and love the tome i'm getting, very responsive, at clear.

If you always use high gain, i think ok ang Elixir, as it is warm sounding. nothing against it pero talagang malayo sa D'addario which is cheaper, short life, but better sound quality.

well, kanya kanya lang  di ko lang talaga magustuhan. maybe sa strats ok... never liked it on my lp.

Yun! This confirms na something's off with elixirs.  May mga kasama na din ako! I really noticed sa sg ko na right after I changed to elixirs (from stock gibson) , parang naging flat yung tone nya, hindi na tuloy ganun ka inspiring tugtugin. Kaya I was having second thoughts replacing the stock gibson strings of my new LP kasi baka hindi ko na din sya ma enjoy tugtugin. Now the comments here confirmed my observation. I'm now going back to d addarios! 

Medyo it took a while before I confirm this observation sa electric strings, pero sa acoustic, one try pa lang, I didn't like it na. I tried one on a martin of my cousin.  Parang "plastic" yung tunog, especially pag na luma na yung strings.

what type of elixir are you using? baka polyweb ang gamit mo hence the flat sound as it is "emulating" the tone of a used string. kung gusto mo brillo ang sound, go for the nanowebs.

Aside from being ridiculously expensive, kamusta naman yung tone ng mga Dumbles na nasubukan nyo, mga sir? Anong model ba yung sinasabi nyong panget at sobrang mahal? How does it compare to, say, old some Fender & Marshall amps? Since, those two mentioned amps are more common here in Manila. ...baka pwede masubukan namin minsan, kung nasa inyo pa yung mga Dumbles nyo, mga sir?

First hand inputs such as yours, aside from "FM55's", would be very helpful for us. Since, our country itself is heavily deprived with the best sounding (boutique) gears. In fact, most of the so-called boutique gear in our country are only over-hyped units that are pimped heavily over the net & particularly here in our forum for the purpose of product movement by locally practicing retailers & 'gray-marketeers' of sort, actually.

elixir electric strings feel a little weird. the acoustic elixirs are ok.

i also find it hard to like humbuckers or p90s. i like low-output buckers in semi-hollow guitars, though. but generally, i really only like to play single coils.

I never said nor implied that I had experience using them. Looking at their ridiculous price tag and listening to youtube demos is enough to regard them with disdain although a lot of players seem to consider them the holy grail of amps. I disagree.

First of all, what's with the aggression? I'd like to ask where you got the idea that I have that kind of amp. AFAIK, the title of the thread is "Pieces of gear that everyone seems to like, except you.." - there were no indications that you had to own the stuff before posting here. That's taking my one sentence wildly out of context. And you even brought in FM55. I shudder at the thought.
