last nyt niyaya ako ng friend ko sa gateway mall para maglaro ng drum mania (wala syang mayayang kalaro kaya ako ang hinatak nya since alam nyang drummer ako). first time ko lang maglaro nun (patay nga agad ako eh), di pa ko marunong tho since drummer ako may mga nasasakyan akong beats and rollings (not bad for an amateur daw). after namin maglaro, sinabi nya sakin na bukas daw ulit...i refuse to play na ulit...di ako nagenjoy (well siguro konti)... bakit kaya ganun? drummer naman ako pero ang feeling ko...iba parin ang real drumming...nailalabas mo kasi ang real drumming action!

feeling pa nung ibang naglalaro dun sobrang bano ako, di nila alam drumming is one of my proffesions. lalo na yung mga emo kids, ang talas tumingin! hehe, anyweiz... ang opinion ko lang...maglaro ka man ng drum mania, di ka magiging mahusay na drummer, magiging kabisote ka lang at di mo magagamit ang natural reflex ng katawan mo, nawawala yung emotions on drumming and isa pa, ang liit ng drum machine (yung kit kuno nila)! sus ayoko na...masaya siya kung pangkulitan lang pero as past tym,...magstudio nlng ako magisa at least real drumming experience ang mappractice ko!

kayo ano opinion nyo sa drum mania?

peace! :)

add to that Danny Carey's playable drumset sa website niya
http://www.dannycarey.org/page2.html
on the left side bar, click "technology" then under that, click "present". lalabas na yung current setup ng drums niya na pwede niyo rin i-play. including electronic pads with his own samples.

i come across DTXMANIA in the WEB, a drum simulation game for the PC.
it says i can use my yamaha DD55c edrum with it. yay...

http://www.gdamania.net/dtx/

wonder which is better between the 2, the konami drummania v2 drumset,
or the yamaha dd5c?

currently playing dtxmania 7th mix with the keyboard. like the video machines, i think there are 10 'mixes', plus a couple of special ones.

maybe by next week, i'll buy the USB/MIDI connector taiwan made and try connecting the yamaha dd55c, mga 1500 yata.

hmmm ive a roland spd-11 and a usb to midi i use the drum pads as a controller for inputing drum patterns in my sequences..may latency/ lag lang nga

im interested kung may game nga! makalaro!
It's not the number of notes you can play, but the number of rests in between..to come up with a tasteful, soulful piece...

(discontinued product ) or always out of stock po ata yang usb drum kit. These are just based from what I've read on the internet... no personal experience...

http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/buy_pintech_acoustic_trigger_5pack_with_cables?full_sku=444935

http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/buy_roland_tmc6_trigger_midi_converter?full_sku=442374

Pero mukang mas murang option ung yamaha dd55 dahil drum pads sya na may midi in/out na (though hindi sya talaga mukang drumset tulad nung usb drumkit)

http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/buy_yamaha_dd55_digital_drum_pad?full_sku=101466654
Not sure if our local yamaha carries this.

( i was impressed/got interested in electronics when I saw how johnny rabb and andy gangadeen using electronics/midi with their acoustic set. I wish I could play like them or even play at all :-) )

already got a yamaha dd55c, tried to hooked it up with a Ztek USB to MIDI but to no avail. Yamaha UX-16 is somewhat pricy and no stock. still trying to look to for other connectors in the market.

another option is using a PS2 konami drumset, hooked it up to the PC with a USB hub. but i defer this because it lacks one drum pad.

maybe if i can find usb drumsets, maybe from china like http://www.1comedrum.com/english/english.htm . hopefully a cheaper counterpart of yamaha or roland.

What was the problem when you used ztek usb to midi?

Have you also tried looking at MIDI PCI cards that you can install in your computer? Or those sound cards that also have  MIDI ports in them (creative soundblasters and the likes)? If you are using a laptop, I think there are also some PCMCIA cards that have MIDI in/out.

You might be better off using something that directly attaches to the insides (PCI, EISA, etc...) of your computer instead of going the USB route.

The PC recognized it as a USB audio device. Aside from that nothing else.  Cannot transfer files or get it in synch with the PC.  Where can i find these MIDI cards, none in greenhills. Music shops?
