How To Recover Lost Files? (Solved.. partially.)

Say you didn't have a backup of some of your files after reformatting your PC. How can you recover those files? I've tried a software called Easeus Data Recovery Wizard. Although it can detect some of my files, it cannot detect most of it.

Any help will be appreciated.

jrpogi and ogagka, Recuva's currently running right now. Will post again on this thread if it successfully recovers my files or not. EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard cannot recover most of my files. Estimated number of files it recovered (which are mine) is probably 15 out of 300 to 500. Yep, onti lang files ko since I back it up naman sa portable hdd. Baka less than 300 pa nga eh.

Is there any way para ang ipakita sakin na results ay by folder? Kunwari yung folder na yun nasa desktop ko before, tapos after using Recuva, pati yung mismong folder makikita. Ang hirap kasi na iniisa-isa ko. Mahirap din piliin yung mga uncommon file types such as .dll ata yun and such. Di ako familiar sa mga file names nun, but they're all in a folder.

Yung iba, nag-iba yung file name. Mostly images. Nothing major though since may preview naman. Pero walang lumalabas minsan sa preview. Pero yung music and movies, same file name pa din.

Sana pwede makita yung folder ng pinaglagyan ng mga files.. That'll save a lot of time.

Yep nadiscover ko to last night. Pwede mo palitan to list view, tree view, meron pang isa but I can't remember. Sinubukan ko lang muna kasi. Di ko pinatapos yung scanning para macheck ko kung user-friendly ba and kung nakikita yung files ko. Fortunately, okay naman yung software. Sana matapos na yung scanning.

You just have to be careful while scanning. Kasi if you accidentally hit the keyboard or mouse during scanning and napindot yung 'cancel', lalabas pa din yung files. Iisipin mo tapos na magscan. Panigurado hindi thorough yung pag scan. Kaya I'm leaving this laptop idle lang. No activity aside from scanning. Good thing I have a backup jurassic laptop.

viewing files to be recovered using recuva is difficult in old HDD's, ipapakita nya kase sayo lahat ng kaya nyang ipakita simula pa nung unang nagamit yung HDD na iniiscan mo, tyagaan lang sa paghihintay

alam ko hindi pwede eh., usually ginagawa ko is nirerecover ko lahat tapos after marecover, saka ko pinipili at hinahanap yung mga files na kailangan ko., kaya nga mahirap kapag medyo matagal na yung HDD kase sa dami ng pwede irecover., mga files since day 1 ng HDD

Siguro ganun na nga lang gagawin ko. Mano-mano. Matagal pero dapat pagtiyagaan. Narerecover pa ba kahit "Poor" yung status? And pwede kaya search by file name? Makakatulong din yun.

Okay naman nakikita naman kaso di pa ako nagrerecover. Ayaw ko madaliin para makuha ko lahat ng kailangan kong files. Hirap din kapag photo. Hindi lahat may preview. Dunno why.

may chance marecover yung mga files na poor status kaso mas malaki ang chance na hindi marecover

Update lang. Okay naman yung Recuva. Hindi niya lang marerecover lahat ng files mo. Although makikita mo yung file, nakalagay kung unrecoverable siya. In my case, I've a few files that I wasn't able to recover. Nag Deep Scan na rin ako pero no luck.

the more you use the disk space the more chances of loosing your "temporarily-stored" deleted files

those deleted files will not be longer seen/accessible once na run mo yung DEFRAG. forever lost na... just my 2 cents...
