If you want to earn money being a musician...it's a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll!
1) Make sure the band can play anything from Sinatra to Metallica with equal conviction and skill.
2) Make sure you are using professional equipment - it need not be expensive but you can't get a good sound out of Raon gear
3) Your band must have the usual pre-requisites - a keyboardist, a female singer much like Freestyle
4) Rehearse...hard. That is the work. Getting gigs is the reward of your effort (rehearsals)
5) Make a professional profile/porfolio to present to bars and potential agents and managers
6) Remember that you start by playing covers first. If deciding to concentrate on a particular genre (i.e. Classic Rock) then you should know everything about that music from the songs to the artist.
7) Must be flexible, must entertain requests, be ready to play that is not in the repertoire (not necessarily play the song all the way through but a verse and a chorus will suffice).
Consider working abroad. It can be worthwhile endeavor.
That is the usual way to make money being a musician. If you want on the onset to be a recording artist but not learning the ropes, then to make money will be very difficult. Band business is a shark infested water.
