As long as you like it an played with it a lot.

Don't be like those people who buy guitars for fashion. Wala na yung pinakaessence ng paggigitara, practice your chops, learn chord patterns and practicing scales. Yun naman ang pinakadahilan kaya ka nagigitara which is to play music. It doesn't matter what you have what matters is what you do with it.

Kung kaya mong magipon ng matagal you can also buy an expensive guitar. Its your decision din naman sa bandang huli. Just dont forget what matters most and that's playing music. Don't also forget you need a good amp and a few effects.

or what you can do is buy a MIC guitar first try it and after a few months when your ears mature and you want to try a different sound sell it and buy a MII,MIK, MIJ or even a MIA or just change your pickups.

I have a SX tele guitar MIC although modified. I have a tone battle with a MIA Fender Strat from a friend of mine. My guitar sound got a lot of compliments rather than the other one. Tone is in the fingers.

MIC Squire as a main axe...

if it meets your current music requirement, then ok lang. when you've played enough, your tonal palette evolves and you may feel the need to invest in a more expensive guitar. but if it works for you for now, go get it and make music.

MIC as a main guitar is not worth it. The amount you invest depends on how you define MAIN GUITAR, your obejctive and how you serious you take guitar playing.

well if it's your only guitar, then it's your "main guitar" hehe.

pero for me, to really take something seriously, there has to be a significant investment. by investment, i don't mean na dapat mahal. it's dependot, hehe. for example, for a student, a 14k squier MIC guitar is a significant investment given that it took him around 2 years of allowance savings to be able to buy that. where he could've bought a MIR (made in raon) strat copy for a lot cheaper. as compared to a businessman, who craps 14k a day, parang lunch money lang nya yang MIC squier na yan. for the businessman, a significant investment would be a fender custom shop, or other boutique, exotic brands. mas seseryosohin mo ang isang bagay pag ginastusan mo. parang GF lang yan, but let's not go there, hahaha!

the important thing is, get something decent at the very least. there are good stocks sa mga MIC na yan, kailangan mo lang talaga magtiyaga. and don't get caught up with the brands.
+1

everything is relative.

and the phrase "Is an original electric guitar matters than local?" comes to mind.

IMO, it doesn't matter kung MIC, MIJ, MIA, MIM, etc.. nor the BRAND it has...

As long as it feel and sound good to you..., I bow to all the guys that makes their Cheap guitar sounds so Expensive...

sa mga simpleng tao, kahit made in pinas, oks yan. lahat ng bagay dapat nasa lugar. kung tipong di ka naman bigtime, bakit ka magkukumahog sa GIBSON or FENDER CUSTOM SHOP. eh pwede mo nang ipambili ng 2nd hand car yun ah. magagamit mo pa. hehe.

eto!!

Go lang! Everyone has to start somewhere, right? Basta naman ok ang setup at playability, it will serve you well. Bago ka palang naman sabi mo e. Alagaan mo lang setup and upgrade some parts pag kaya na.

Once na gig at nakasulat ka na ng mga kanta using that humble MIC guitar, it becomes priceless.

Everyone of us here started with humble gear. Di ka dapat mahiya.  :-\

Anyway, Ebe Dencel uses Fernando. Ely Buendia uses Squier. Basta naka setup lang ng mabuti. Pwede mong gawin yan as main axe mo yan. Usually, you play 3-5 songs sa isang gig and it may serve.
