Hi, a few months ago, I posted my neglected Tele. I planned on having it sanded and then stained and varnished to a natural finish, but a lot of you persuaded me not to. Thanks for that. I wanted to bring it to Doc Arie for some kind of resotaration, but I haven't really found the time to go there because it's pretty far from my house(malolos). So I decided to have a go at it. After reviewing some wiring diagrams at Seymour Duncan, and reviewing a few DIY tips, I went for it. I sanded the frets to level it out. because as you will see in the old picture, it's in bad need of a refret. I bought new pots, a new toggle switch(because my old ones had years of corrossion on it), re-wired the whole thing, sanded off the rust on the hardware, cleaned the neck, fixed the truss rod, gave it a serious detailing, and voila...a vintaged out Telecaster.
Some information: I asked in another post, if there was a way for me to identify it's date, year, maker, etc...after some research, I came out with some info. This is a 1990 Silver Series Fender Telecaster, with a Sunburst Finish, Gotoh tuners and bridge, and standard Fender single coil pups, made from the Fujijen Factory in Japan.
Just to let you know, after rewiring it last night, I hd a few problems, but sorted it out later on. It had a '53 Tele wiring. It sounds sweet. I missed that twang. I haven't played this guitar for years. I couldn't put it down all night. Kaya antok antok ako ngayon sa office. Here are the pics.
