Hi, I'm Michael Belmes.  I'm a FilAm musician living permanently in Vietnam.  I want to find 2 (guitar/bass) or 3 (guitar/bass/percussion) Filipino/a musicians willing to relocate to Vietnam to form a core group of musicians for band projects (1 - R&B-Funk-Motown, 2 - Originals, 3 - Your side projects).  Prefer single (nothing tying you down) young and enthusiastic males or females (with band experience) that can also sing and write. I have no hangups except people who don’t do what they say they will do.

I am not a recruiter, just tired of local musicians who can't learn songs, can't play and are boring.  And I’d rather pay your way over here (+ room/food for a few months) than go through months of fruitless rehearsals.

Club Gigs – I’m not in it for the money and will take an equal share, little or nothing.  Whoever books it will get a bit more.
Band 1: 1 or 2 gigs per week ($30-$50 each). Motown/R&B/Funk Dance/Party Band
Band 2: Few gigs. Originals
Band 3: Whatever you want to do without me (about $30 duo/trio - $50 solo). 0-4 Gigs per week depends on you. I work a lot and only want a couple gigs per week.

The music earning potential is about $700-$1000+ per month if there are no special events (weddings, bdays etc).  If you speak good English there are lots of English teachers jobs here at $10-15 per hour and you could easily make another $1000+ month.  My friend also owns a music school that is always looking for teachers and will start up again in September.

I can pay for transport here (Cebu Pacific) + room (in my studio for a couple months while we get it together). I will also give you Vietnam resident Filipino references (one presently works for me. The other is a non-teacher that has been teaching English here for years. It’s really easy. You just teach conversation). Hopefully they can ease your mind re: "Is this guy (me) full of crap?"

I would play 2nd guitar/keys/percussion. I sing (lead and harmony) but don’t want to be the only singer. I’ve got a good Strat copy + Roland GT10 pedalboard, nylon and steel elect acoustics and Roland XP-30 Keyboard.  I usually record everything but vocals at home in my studio which would be free for you to use.

My latest rock demos are below.

I also do incidental music. Below is a station ID for Vietnam’s first music channel
