like i said, ang lupit ng left hand mo anthony sa mga ghost notes. and i could just imagine the sticking control one would need to play those slow songs, kaya when i saw your clinic, ayos...

Thanks bro Paolo!  I've been really working hard on my left hand for years.  It all began with my grunge influences, when I discovered ghost notes and learned how to play them.  Later on, I discovered masters like Steve Gadd and Jeff Porcaro, who not only play excellent ghost note licks, but also made them feel oh-so-good!  Much later, I had a workshop with senyor Mar Dizon.  Thanks to him, he refined my playing; making sure that I play ghost notes more evenly and more musically, and in respect to the subdivision of notes.

Thanks bro!  I have to admit, di pa rin ako sanay magsalita on a microphone (which was more evident on EB3).  Just like drumming, konting practice pa.  Mismo yung drumkit mo.  Salamat uli!  Nuod kayo minsan ng gigs namin.

i agree on this.. mahirap talaga ang timing ng mababagal.. when i was trainee sa church before eto lagi naririnig ko na mahirap ang mga mababagal like worship songs.. unlike kapag mabilis medyo matatakpan mo pa mga mali mo.. pero masarap tugtugin mga mababagal na songs kasi nandun yung feel at groove.. mahirap nga lang.. lalo na yung mga bagsak... IMHO

Hey bro!  Slow music is challenging to play, but once we get it right, sarap talaga.  Adding to feel and groove, it's also about empathy.  It's about expressing the right feelings and emotions, based on the music.  Besides having the right feel in terms of drumming, we should also feel the music and its meaning, and the things that our bandmates play.  A true musician is a sensitive and expressive artist.

honestly, i didnt get the chance to see how sir dio plays, napanood ko lang kasi yung warming up nya na sort of like a drum solo na din...

well all i can say is you hold your groove so nice.. i wish i could reach your level someday... astig.. ang galin mo pre...

Thanks for appreciating, bro!  To be frank, I don't have a normal practice routine right now.  I'm saving up for a quality drumkit, and all I have is my practice pad which helps keep my fire burning.  Plus, plenty of research (thanks to the internet) and constant listening and appreciation of different kinds of music.  Sige minsan mag-sharing tayo.  Thanks!

hey man thanks a lot..it was my fist time to use that snare that night..it was supposed to be a xmas day gift for me pero kinulit na ako ni bea na buksan yun snare since she will be using her joey jordisson snare..para partner daw...bea and i will be very much willing to do antoher drum duet the next time around..cherrs

yeah, actually mas prefer ko pa tumugtog na slow music kesa sa mabibilis.. like worship songs kesa sa praise.. ang sarap talaga ng feeling kapag slow mga tinutugtog mo.. kaya ngayon mas nagugustuhan ko mga r&b and smooth jazz.. dati medyo rock tinutugtug ko.. pero mas enjoy na ako sa slow, na ma-groove and ma-feel.. yeah tama ka bro.. expression yan ng nararamdaman mo... though parang simple lang mga slow music, pero tama ka challenging.. basta masarap! heheheh
