For my use case, the only advantage of Apple tablets are the portrait mode reading (since its ratio is 4:3). It's good for reading documents and comics. But our family is still using Android tablet and phones. The expansion SD card is unbeatable. The S-pen is very good as it's not just a regular pen but a wacom one, calibrated pressure and all that. Plus Samsung got that split and floating windows, good for multi-tasking on tablet/phone.
As for the updates, I'm on the fence here. Apple has great track of rolling out updates across the supported models. For Android, it's the wild wild west out there, he he he. If time permits, I usually dabble into rooting and flashing our phones. I guess it's the effect of years of experimenting with different OSes on x86 computers (Linux distros, BSDs, BeOS clones, ReactOS and plethora of hobbyist OSes).
BTW Gandy, akala ko ayaw mo ng smart thingy? Bwahahahahaha!
