teles? offsets? flannel?
can the typical pinoy hipster guitarist/musician be unique or obscure in terms of equipment if they can only access the same shops & stores?
di na pwede ang relic'd guitars sa hipsters ngayon dahil mainstream na.
pwede siguro tele or offset na tatak RJ pero souped up lahat para ok naman functionally. then wear it really high like those guys who wear the electric spanish guitars really high and stuff.
pwede rin guitars assembled from parts, then strip the paint off then stain the wood with coffee or do some really cool trippy stuff with the finish.
you can go the lo-fi hipster route and hook up to tiny practice amps and mic that up. fill up your rig with MetalZones and DS-100s and whatever else high school kids use.
try hooking up a guitar to a preamp then into some Korg equipment that processes signals. it could be a Kaoss Pad or a monotribe, whatever, as long as it's not a pedal. the crowd would have no idea what you just did to your guitar. sometimes obscurity can come from using equipment meant for another instrument.
oh, and don't forget to paint your effect pedals, and buy some boutique ones too, the ones without labels. use a wood pedalboard you made yourself.
all that aside, it's always pretty much a tele (thinline depending on your view), plaid shirts, chinos, boat shoes, thick rimmed glasses, weed in a vaporizer, tube combo amps, a couple of boutique dirt pedals, and probably a trem pedal, and a band with a synths guy.
