GUITAR [usually with undersaddle piezo pup or under-bridge installed piezo disc tranducers such as the K&K mini (3-piece) or classic (4-piece)
>> (OUT TO) a piezo impedance matched preamp which may be in the form of an onboard (side-installed or a output jack >> LINE OUT or DI BOX.
LINE OUT (using Canon/PL connector) is to a combo amp such as the AER Compact 60 (carried by JB Music in recent years) SWR California Blonde, SWR Strawberry Blonde, Fender Acoustasonic, Trace Elliot (once carried by Yupangco then), Fishman Loudbox (no local dealer). NOTE: combo amps may have Line Outs and/or XLR outs as well.
DI Box (using XLR 'balance' lines/cables) to mixing console.
EQs (graphic or parametric) is preferably after the preamp (before the amp or console) >> EFX processor to amp or console.
My set up is usually as follows:
Guitar <with AER AKplus - uses piezo undersaddle and condenser mic with blending control) to another preamp <either Presonus Tube or Raven Labs Blender> to amp or to console.
another variation is -
Guitar <with piezo under bridge transducers) plus external AKG 416 Condenser pointed between 12th fret & sound hole> blended on Raven Labs PMB OUT to combo amp via LINE OUT or OUT to DI box to console.
If money is no object, you have a lot more equipment options such as rje Bose L series, Fender Passport (which is very reasonably priced as a PA system), DTAR Solstice or Mama Bear preamps (also very reasonably priced considering their quality).
