Did anybody get the chance yet to buy the Dongabay album "Flipino"? I like it a lot. It's a lot slower than Yano but still has a lot of energy at times. Mostly it just proves that Dong Abay is a great songwriter, probably a little ahead of Rico Blanco and a little behind Bamboo Maņalac in my opinion. He writes darn good slow music and some funny fast songs, just like in Yano, but they've matured a little bit.

Malas talago ako, binili ko ang CD sa Radio City sa MegaMall - may scratch ang record! Sa track 10 parang naka-Coffee na at nerbyoso talaga ang singer! Binalik ko kaya sa Radio City - may scratch din ang kapalit! Pero maliit lang scratch. . . sandali lang ang pangit na sounds.

Tama they are good in their own way.  :-)

I like Dong Abay more becuase I think he's better at wordplay. Galing niya maglaro ng mga salita! pasok yung mga rhyme and hindi pilit, maganda pakinggan, and the meaning isnt vague.  Paborito kong kanta yung "Dyad", sobrang galing ng songwriting hayop talaga. sarap pa kantahin haha

Also, ang galinggaling ng Flipino, sobrang nakakaaliw yung packaging! galing ng mga imagination nina Romeo Lee and Dong.

What a coincidence.  I just listened to this thing while at work today.  Sa dinami-dami ng pinapakinggan ko, nalimutan kong meron akong kopya nito.

Dong Abay's both an observer and a prolific songwriter. But I guess his latest materials are a lift of several 80's protest albums, joey ayala/bob dylan and those vintage folk-punk records (Betrayed, Wuds, PV, The Jerks etc.)
