2016 DIY (sort of) Pedalboard
« on: January 13, 2016, 10:16:08 PM »
Probably my first sensible contribution to this section! Here's my first DIY Pedalboard. Got tired of carrying big ass boards to 4 song gigs, sometimes 3!

A. Less is more, bring only the essentials!
B. Fits the pocket of my gig bag so I carry only 1 bag!
C. Something natural looking but has a musical touch!
D. Must be dirt cheap because I'm sending 4 kids to school!

Presenting...

1. Saw a cutting board at Japan Home Center while the wife was shopping small boxes. It reminded me of a maple neck and suddenly thought this can be my next pedalboard.

2. Next stop was at ACE Hardware and saw rubber footings. I need a bit of elevation to keep the wood looking neat and tidy. I also need the board to stay firm in once place.

3. Removed the ring (pansabit) and replaced it w/ a spare strap button to add a musical touch.

4. Installed 4 rubber feet at the corners.

5. Measured the chosen three pedals and istalled velcro on the board for a stealth set-up.

6. The most pleasant part... cost is 106 pesos. Time to build is less than 10 minutes!

I have 3 more cutting boards in stock!  :-D

much better than what I used to have

1.) those heavy wood panels from ACE from metal cabinet handles

2.) small white board and some rubber stoppers

I wish japan home existed back in my gigging days

Nice one! I have to replace my current one (a very heavy one). Only problem is where to put the power brick.

pwede pala yun mga boards ko dito...the only boards na i've used na commercially available are Gator Pedal Tote, Pluggzz Aluminum Pedalboard and BOSS BCB-3 (MIJ) - only the BCB3 is with me, modded it.

Used to have this as a temporary mini board

Cost me nothing :)

Few people know it but for the US reunion show of the Eraserheads, I fashioned not one but three pedalboards out of the plastic chopping boards sold at Daiso for Marcus Adoro.

The total pedal count across all 3 boards was 17. This setup was used until we had aluminum boards made by Pedalgrill.

i stole my wife's new chopping board she recently brought at SM appliances.

brought velcro at ACE hardware and it fits 4 pedals!!!

it also included a lump on my head...

This pedalboard fits well in a bag for a 14-inch display laptop.
