everyone want to be a rockstar dude. kahit hindi musician gusto maging rockstar. kaya nga nag eenjoy tayo sa videoke.

dreaming of making it big is a dream we all share. noone can deny it. pero hindi na sya ok if we rant about it. blame the rich and the ones that made it is not right.

why cant we all just stop bitchin bout it and just play the game.

Panget man isipin, pero opinyon ko lang po ito:

1. Kasi may pera yung pamilya nila na magbigay sa kanila ng piano/guitar/voice/music lessons habang bata pa sila.
2. May oras silang mag-practice or mag-aral ng mga kanta kasi hindi nila kailangang mamroblema sa paglalaba, pag-pa-plantsa, at iba pang mga house chores.
3. Marami na silang mga contacts (from family to friends), kaya madaling mag-network (ie, radio station DJs; music video directors; TV personalities)
4. Hindi sila pressured mag-trabaho ng maaga, kasi hindi nila kailangang paaralin ang mga mas nakababatang mga kapatid.
5. Possibleng ang mayaman ng magulang ay supurtado ang pangarap ng kanilang anak na maging "rock star".

Di puwedeng puro passion lang. Kailangan mo ng pera pambili ng instrumento. Pero kung tunog tao lang ang banda ninyo, why not.

Hmm... In my opinion, if you guys want to become famous... Hang around with a local band that you really really like. Go to their gigs lagi. Tapos become a fan. Then you know, pag close na kayo maybe nung isang member or manager.. Edi give that person a copy of your recording. Malay mo magustuhan i-endorse ka pa. I gained a lot of connections sa mainstream when I became a the number 1 fan of the now disbanded local band. Even if they started with money, if your song is really good, they'll give you a shot naman. And gusto ko sa mga sikat na bands is, they also listen sa mga hindi pa sikat. They'll give you a chance. Saka, the passion talaga and the positive thoughts na "sisikat din kami" will really help. Just socialize sa mga ibang banda, and prods. Malay mo matripan talaga nila music ng band mo.. Basta find ways to let your music be heard... siguro kung 1000 people nakarinig dun. 50% nagustuhan 3-6 people will recommend your music to people with connections. basta... ganun lang un.. positive thinking. Work hard on your skills and practice!!! Compose more songs! practice! sisikat din tayong lahat! hehe

pero isn't this like "hanging on"? I mean it would require you to fake being friends with them.... which is a bad thing, hoping that their connections and fame would rub off on your band too.

I'd still go for plain and simple, gigging it out until people start noticing than make friends with popular acts to latch on them.

"Hope" and "Hard work" are two seperate words. They come together but don't stand up on their own

you have a point... pero hindi naman ibig sabihin you'll follow them around wherever they go. Its more like befriending them not because you have a hidden agenda but because you like they're music. People in the industry help people naman as much as they can. I'm just saying, try to make a connection...if you're obviously stalking them malamang, they wouldn't even be-friend in the first place...

I think this a challenge among aspiring bands not coming from rich families. Most influential and superstar rock n rollers from all over started from nothing. They just had music (inspiration and ambition).

Despite the issues surrounding the music business, economic and otherwise, getting on top of this business has nothing to do one's family background. This is why i like music more more than movie and politics. Other than it is less political, you don't have to build a dynasty to get known or be heard. You just play music.

Classes among bands are inapplicable to music.
