cool thread.

btw, do all you guys use flat wounds for your hollowbody? anyone of you use round wounds and light gauge strings? i'm new to the semi hollow. mines got flats since i bought it and i'm kinda diggin the heavy gauge, but would like to try lighter gauges or at least round wounds.  :-D

hi lyle. how are you liking the guitar? rounds are fine. imho, heavy gauge strings bring out the best tones from hollowbody guitars.

very much, my friend. i'm loving the flatwounds and having second thoughts replacing the strings to rounds. but they are quite darker than rounds, in a good way naman. also heavy gauges clean up my playing. ha ha ha. its cool.

i'm quite intimidated to replace the strings of this arch top cause its my first experience with a floating bridge. i dunno how to adjust the bridge when i switch to a lighter gauge e. he he.

just replace one string at a time so the bridge doesn't move.  i do believe its the truss rod which will need adjustin in case your action changes.

i have flatwounds in my ibby jazzbox - chromes yata.  still haven't changed the strings though, been years na.  the dead sound is perfect for my jazz tone, or what passes for such.  haha!

just got this from dyugs <restored by him>. a harmony monterey acoustic turned into a jazz guitar.

I wanted a jazz guitar for so long kaya nung nakita ko to sunggab agad. nothing much pero i'm satisfied with it so far. gusto ko lang upgrade hardware and this is all set.

simula na to ng hollowbody fetish. hehe.

patulong naman hanap hardware o? tailpiece and bridge sana hanap ko, then tuners ayus nako.  :-D

nakahanap na ba kayo ng bridge, ser? may gold bridge akong binebenta, galing sa Bigsby B7 set. :)

where can you get a well padded gigbag for a semi hollow/full hollow? the hardcase is as heavy as a damn coffin.

Just in.  :-D

Coaxing fat tones out of a guitar has never been this easy, even at low volumes. Hehe.
I do plan on changing the bridge pickup soon.

By the way, does anyone here top-wrap their strings on their hollowbodies?
