Mark OK lang acoustic amp. Very flat response,, great if you do a lot of fingerstyle. Pero pag-BEBOP nothing can beat a tube amp, but if low budget a good transistor fender amp will do.

Thank you Sir Danny. More on fingerstyle sana ala Martin Taylor (I'm still practicing :) ).

Eto kasi ang options ko:
Peavey Ecoustic E208

The Lunchbox

or Stagg AAR 20 (the cheapest of 'em all)

Speaking of Stagg, Nakita nyo na ba to? May nakita ako sa TMS Cubao.

WOW, MARTIN TAYLOR; to me Mr. MT is the bearer of the torch of fingerstyle jazz guitar that JOE PASS 'started'.  BTW, I would go for the Peavey, the 2 speakers bring more air and openness to the tone.

I was actually having 2nd thoughts of posting here, since all boxes posted have been branded ones. Even though we are all GAS aficionados in differing degrees, I think everyone appreciates guitars for what they are, regardless of the brand.

And thus, I would like to share my box, a no-brand, china constructed (I think) full hollow. Have owned this for more than 5 years so far.

The body is constructed out of plywood I guess. The pickups are obviously super low quality. The saddle is weird, and the floating bridge is a pain to set-up. The neck though is great, after re-gluing the fretboard because of separation, it was playable again, with surprisingly good low action I prefer. I have since repainted it to mat red. This is my only guitar, and it is a beater at the same time. At least intonation is good also.

Here are samples of how it sounds like, although this is direct to a laptop, the actual sound when run though an amp is approximately the same. I can coax different tones out of it with some fiddling.  (Sorry, playing is not that good also, have stopped regular playing ever since I went full time with work).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCLlU5l80BA&feature=context-gau

Eventually, would want to purchase a better quality box, but this cheap guitar will stay with me since it has introduced me to the wonderful vibe of hollows after owning several "regular" electrics before.

Cheers.

Hi ACE, I always love thin-bodied full-hollow F-hole guitars. A nice catch in red by the way.

For the price (10K?) pwede na. I strongly suspect they are made in china and rj just stamp their name to it. the rj factory razed by fire years ago. they just import them guitars from china where labor cost is floor-level.

decided to reward myself on my natal day last month. i had absolutely no plans of aquiring anything until I stumbled upon a gorgeous sounding Cort Source 335.

I still feel that she's a fluke. I love the chunky next that seemlessly transitions from a C shape to a D. It feels like it has a 14 inch radius with a generous string spread. Exactly what i prefer!

As for the sound: the pickups are remarkably clear and fat, the tone controls are tapered very well, and she's chock loaded with that harmonic bloom that some people like to wank to.

I'm still breaking her in. This axe should age nicely  :)

here she is on our first date:

will share more pics and vids when the airpocket presents itself.

my wife just named her "Dany" after Daenerys Targaeryan, coz the fiery red color reminds her of the mother of dragons (We're huge GOT fans)

What's the fuss if it's made in china?  :?

Lahat yata ng jazzbox ngayon ng Ibanez (if I'm not mistaken) ay made in China... As long as you buy the unit brand new at any Audiophile store, you don't have to worry about it being fake.. Audiophile ang official dealer dito sa Pinas ng mga Ibanez merchandise.

Nothing wrong with MIC, let your ears be the guide.

Based on the stuff I've read I would also encourage you to check out some of the indonesian stuff as their factories appear to have a more stable tenureship with their workforce. I'm very happy with my Cort 335 (as posted above)
