well pampalamig sa malamig ang ulo.sabi ko nga sorry e.i was not an applicant of any of these orgs, although i did hang with some of them.may mga di na address ang mga grupo na ito, tama ka dun.my opinions kasi dapat kung musikero ka,meron ka gus2 at di gus2.di naman lahat pakikinggan mo e,may mga bagay ka na hahanapin kasi nga napakinggan mo na halos lahat kailangan hanap ka ng bago.innovate di ba?secondly, earn your dues to sing the blues.di pwede yung may gitara ka at marunong ka na mag pose e,musikero ka na.i was not in any way offended sa mga cnabi mo sir delta, kasi nga you were just saying your piece.pag taga up ka,at medyo matagal ka na rin sa eksena, whether punk, blues, funk, metal etc maghahanap ka ng iba sa iyong pandinig.ung unique, may sense at astig.these were elements of bands of yore like yano, jerks, jdlc, asin or musicians like gary granada, joey ayala(atenista),noel cabangon, jess santiago.may cnasabi ka bang bago?may kabuluhan ba cnasabi mo?again just my piece, and no intending to hurt, malign or diss any group.

sir, do not mistake opinions with attack.

an intellectual discussion on your views (much like your latest post is an opinion; very valid one in fact) but putting the term "fu....." before the org's name is an attack. saying the bands in one org are posero is an attack.

something new and unique in music is impossible. bands or musicians may have added a twist to their music but it's hardly new. all the artists you have mentioned are great artists. i have the highest praises for all of them. but their music, sir, is hardly new. they have been inspired by other artists that they have listened to. or maybe you haven't listened to their predecessors.

actually listening to some of these bands you have strong opinions against (sacramento, la passionaria, oi wag dito, the brew, chubibo, other bands of up underground) may help you notice the subtle differences and twists they have done to their music. they are quite good.

and may i ask you sir, a seemingly advanced thinker, to submit your music to criticism, scrutiny and praise.

good day.

yes and yes.tama ka dyan kingsect.have i noticed their(up ug bands) twist on music?have i listened to my idols predecessor?i have.ihave.i have done my research too bro,and i still think the same way.meron kasi gaya na astig, like yano or dong abay doing twists with ramones/clash music,or jr kilat doing marley with visayan pride, or maybe gary g doing his best to maybe channel bob dylan etc.heck even our own deltaslims good on his takes with the delta blues, and much lauded for it in fact.let us just say mapili ako, pihikan kumbaga.i am still yet to produce any music of my own,but i play for my sake.i will go there, maybe write some stuff and will of course encourage your opinions about it.pero as of now,ako muna makikinig sa sarili ko,i dont want to let out something i will later regret.i am my own worst critic.someday bro, wait ka lang.hehe.

dude if you don't like people from UP underground and UP music circle then leave us in peace, no need for harsh words, unless of course you want us to malign you as well. I really don't want to make this thing worse pero I browsed your narra thread and you said something about us not accepting your disapproval of our organizations, I don't think anyone from both orgs have mentioned anything in this thread any disapproval to what you claim.I'm really sorry if this post would infuriate you further but I just can't understand and I won't allow anymore hostility directed towards two institutions I have learned to love because of great people...or should I say musicians I met, shared thoughts with, and progressed as a musician and a person with.
Peace lang tayo men.

ok, so tapos na yang hidwaan na yan..

maiba naman tayo ng topic.

anong nag-engganyo senyo at napag-tripan nyong humawak ng gitara? bakit hindi drums, or bass, or maracas (hehe). malamang meron din kayong nahawakan na hindi musical instrument, at sini-shred nyo rin to once in a while (using your toungue,, whooops), pero anyway, share nyo naman.

ako, nagsimula akong magka-interes noong nasa LB ako. wala kasi halos magawa dun, ayoko naman umuwi ng bahay every weekend. bale ang natutunan ko dun eh, gitara, yosi at san miguel grande with lechon kawali, da best.

My sister (who is also from UPLB) forced me into taking up guitar kse daw "mas sikat since nasa harap" I've always wanted to play drums kse. baka sinabi lang nya para matahimik nako sa kakakulit ko about drums. She taught me the basics of reading song hits while i was starting out. Now i love the guitar 2nd to my love in playing the drums.

I got encouraged into pursuing it one afternoon when I learned "Smells Like Teen Spirit" using an old song hits lying around. Nung nabuo ko yun, naisip ko, "kaya ko pala mag gitara" hehehe

Astig, may UP thread pala dito :-D

That's true and a good point, kaya lang if you think about it, wouldn't all these fit in the "Anything Goes" section, and we wouldn't want that to happen..eh!!!

So back to my orig question, what made you be a guitar player.

I'm going to add some more, maybe we  can do this in a format, which you can alter anytime.
Introduce yourself, talk about you and your guitar, brag about how good you are (ha ha ha), show us dem skils...... and anything you can add.

I'm a mediocre blues player, can't shred even if my life depended on it, I'm ok with solo's and acoustic [gooey brown stuff].

I'm Cyril. I sing and play guitars for my band, Lovecore. I also do electronica using the name "silverfilter."

UPLB ako commarts. I'm a member of the UP Jammers' Club naman.

I have a Fender Squire Standard Sunburst, Washburn N1, Washburn N2, Epiphone Les Paul Custom, and an Epiphone Flying V.

I have N series guitars kse Idol ko si Nuno. Yung V, nakuha ko sa forum. aliw eh. The LP, from the Forum as well. I fell in love with how it looked kse. I never was a fan of LP's but this one turned me around. My squire naman, I bought coz I want a strat para a la John Mayer hehe

Skillwise, I can honestly say I'm not that good. No shredder. excuse ko nga kunyari Clapton ako kse "slow hands" hehe I can do solos but I don't have the speed and clarity like most of my idols (Nuno, Paul Gilbert, Kotzen, etc)

I'm more into blues, classic rock, and funk. Though I occasionally get my doze of alternative rock  :-D
