drum sound substitutes
« on: March 21, 2007, 12:52:57 PM »

i need suggestions hehehe. personally, i bring my small bass drum. hihat stand with mounted tambourine. snare drum using brushes or hot rods. 1 splash. tube shaker and bongos. wala ako kahon e, it would be nice to have but im always uninspired to use it.

ano pwede nyo substitute dito na acoustic percussion toys. walang electronics. let's be creative

bass =
snare =
hihat =
ride =
crash =

as a guy who loves drum machines, i love getting these sounds sampled to be turned into drum sounds:

bass = car door slam + oxygen escaping from a tank + punching sound of a person getting hit behind the back
snare = oxygen escaping from the tank + wet food being fried + niormal snare sound
hihat = normal hi hat EQ'd
ride = cowbell + normal ride EQ'd
crash = rain + crash EQ'd or distorted

i know i wasnt much help... dream ko lang talaga maka pag sample ng mga sounds na yan for a drum machine, hehehe...

-*-

to help you on your rig :

bass = pedal nakatapat sa wall
snare = book na may plastic cover
hihat = metal plate
ride = bell (yung sa hotel)
crash = used frying pan
