and another question nga po pala. What do you mean by "MODDING" an effects pedal?

Modifying. Changing something inside to make it different. Better or worse is subjective. A lot of people fall into the trap of buying a pedal just to make mod it. If you're after a sound, save the money you'll spend on buying a pedal and modding it to get something that fits the criteria you're looking for. Modding reduces the resale value greatly. So think about it, if you're not satisfied with the mod, chances are when you sell it, you'll get about half or less than half the money you spent on it back.

For the DS-1 that lickers asked as an option to the Rat, the DS-1 for me is not so good on its own. It needs something to go with it.

The common practice of cash-strapped metal guitarists is to set their distortion pedals with low mids and high treble and bass. The amp is then set to have more mids than treble or bass to compensate for the reduction of mids.

for multifx ,you can try boss, vox, zoom, line 6, korg, digitech. Now it would depend on your definition of "okay".  same with stomp box (if it's what you are referring to as "individual") common brands are boss, boston, behringer, digitech, mxr, electroharmonix.

there's a looper that "loops" a sound indefinitely.

the one you're talking about is the looper that "loops" the guitar signal and acts like a BUFFER (aka True Bypass, if it is) that cuts off possible noises from pedals inside the loop.

a looper can also be an A/B looper, where you can pick between 2 signals, among others.

there's a thread here in GC about loopers, i suggest you look for it or use the search function.
