Has anyone here tried the FD-2 + OCD combo? I'd like to know which order you prefer, FD2 -> OCD or the other way around.. I like the FD2 -> OCD but I find that the FD-2 options and boost has little effect when the OCD is engaged. If its the other way around, I get a huge boost from the FD2 but I find it a little bit too gritty.
from what i've read and tried,
1. whichever pedal is last is what will give the more predominant tone and character;
2. if you like to adjust your sound from dirty to clean by rolling off the vol. knob of your guitar, then place the OCD first in line after your guitar;
3. if we were to follow convention, then it should be od > distortion, where the od pedal is set and used more as a clean boost with less gain.
4. when cascading gain pedals, it is best to keep gain and vol levels low on each of them.
Personally I prefer od (e.g. 808 or fd2 or od3) > distortion (e.g. OCD or Rat), with the od set for cleanish boost, and the distortion set low for crunchy chords... just so it doesn't get too over-the-top when both pedals are on.
