Velvet revolver, anyone?
« on: June 29, 2004, 10:54:39 PM »
I guess you guys have heard of this band already, or at least their members.  It was supposed to be a project by GnR and Scott Weiland (STP) which turned to be a full time band.  It's one great album, more of Gnr than STP, and it reflects the old Scott Weiland from Core.  I haven't really dissected the album yet, but by first run, i think it's gonna stick to my disc player. Check it out

I've already listened to the whole album several times. I really tried and wanted to love it, since Gn'R was what turned me to rock music back in high school.

I ended up liking only half the songs, like I did with the Slash's Snakepit album.

the sound is traditional STP and GNR...(slash still [strawberry] rips) - [5]

the lyrics is what didn't impress me that much, it's mostly about Scott's life about how he was a junkie and how he deals with it - [/b]4

my overall impression is this album will be around for a LONG time...if i got it stolen i would buy another one and spare the cheapass who stole my old one

Both Guns n' Roses & STP were great bands, but I can't digest this "supergroup"'s music no matter how I try.

mga sir try nyo LIBERTAD! :-D the progressions are modern but retains the classic bluesy riffs and solo by slash and co....if you planning to buy one, look for those made in japan

as for contraband, there are songs that really rocked such as slither, do it for the kids, fall to peices, spectacle, and loving with the alien...however there are songs that i feel would have been better if they were able to sustain the theme implied by the into/verses

Bakit wala pa dito nung bagong album nila, bad trip...

Anyway, tamang tama pala itong topic, earlier today, there was a live broadcast of Velvet Revolver performing live. Sayang nga, di ko nasimulan, sinabi lang ng friend ko sa States. Pero galing sobra.
