Its a toss up between a couple of stuff depending on my mood:
Sleepy, wanting to wake up and seeking upliftment in the morning: Larry Carlton- Renegade Gentlemen. Freaking amazing arrangements, almost in a Bruce Hornsby way. Larry plays like a teenager here with something to prove, and the tone is fantastic. (No Dumble in sight! Its Bogner-land!) Sunrise mandatory for that added effect. No jazz to be found, its country-rock with LC's special blend.
Wanting to relax: Larry Carlton - On Solid Ground. Makes me feel classy
Night music. You can virtually smell the 80's in the air.
But when I'm really stressed out: Howling Iguanas (Self titled). For a change of flavor, angry modern blues from a highly underrated Michael Lee Firkins in a band with vocals setting. Scary mofo.
When I want to space out: Scott Amendola Band- "Believe". Nels Cline has caught my ears, never boring, from ambient to jazzy, he delivers.
When I REALLY want to space out: Dave Fiucynski's Kif Express. Fresh. 'nuff said.
